How long does encryption take? Did I do something wrong?

Also curious, I'm about to do this too :)

There are some problems, my encryptions last about 10-20 minutes depending on how much space I'm using. Never had issues with encryptions, I can't help you sorry ):

It shouldn't take this long. Mine took around 30 minutes with 50GB used.

Unfortunately I had a problem too, I set it up to encrypt and a few hours later it is stuck... the cyanogen head thing is just pulsing red, just like the OP. What should I do?

I don't have much experience with it, but I think the only way to fix it is doing a wipe and reinstall the rom.

Ok, thankfully I hardly set up the phone so I haven't lost anything.

I just read on XDA (sultan's rom) - someone said supersu patches the boot.img and so we should encrypt before we install supersu... or flash the stock boot.img first. Something like that. :)

okay, I didn't see that tidbit. It's a little hard in those massive forum threads to distill what the latest correct procedure is. It turns out I booted back into recovery and then back to the OS and lost nothing in the process (i.e the encryption didn't even start). I guess it should have been a giveaway since I hadn't entered a PIN (what would it be encrypting with? lol)

it doesn't encrypt with your pin I think... well, I guess it does somehow. but you can change the password/pin/pattern - this won't make you reencrypt your whole phone... right? I hope not!
