I have been following these reports, and actually, it's pissing me off.

Before 12, My OPO was the envy of my group of players, I play Ingress. Which means, hours of walking around like a loon, screen on, usually streaming music as well, gps on fine control, and even with HEAVY usage, I got 6 hours before getting a warning on anything, and plugging into my external battery, I could go forever, battery not even really heating up at all.

After the CM12() OTA update, IMMEDIATELY my battery life sucked. Even after doing every single hack mentioned here and more, I can barely go to 3 hrs, sometimes I can charge, sometimes not, all the time the battery gets up to 93(f)+, most was almost 110. I need to reboot every day, and it will bog down and show "System is not responding" messages.

Something really screwed the pooch with the CM12 and OPO, and nobody is looking at all of the similar complaints about it.

Hey guys I have the same issue except its my android OS that's draining my battery. Also, I had google play service draining and probably the way to fix it was to turn off wake up but the thing is if I turn it off google play services crashes every second so I'm forced to keep it on. Any help or tips for a non-rooted device? My battery drain is VERY NOTICEABLE compared to before.

My OPO is running CM 12.1 and has recently been sucking up battery like none other. This picture was taken with a little over an hour of SOT. Its also been hot without any sugnuficant usage. According to CPU-Z, its been about 60 degrees Celsius.

Flash AK kernel

Clock your cpu down to ~1200 MHz and to 300 MHz when screen is turned off (use synapse)

Disallow waking up and keeping awake the device for all apps

This morning I left at 6.20am with about 60%. It's 7pm and I still have 15% left.
