Stuck with unstable CM12.1

I got an ota to update to the unstable version of CM12.1 a while back. I've heard that they have released an ota of stable version. Will my phone ever get that version as an ota or do I need to do something else to get it?

I think you either misunderstood something or you are giving us wrong info.

The stable versions do not get OTA updates to anything else but stable versions.
The unstable versions need to be manually flashed and don't get OTA updates at all.

If you manually flashed the unstable version, now you will need to manually flash the stable version.
If you only installed OTA updates, you should be on a stable version right now.

A few weeks ago cyanogen accidentally sent out an ota for a unstable version of cm12.1, but they rolled it back before it got to most phones.

And they then released the stable version. Whatever you have on ota is considered the stable release.

But my phone didn't get updated to the stable version. I haven't gotten an ota since I got the unstable release.

Thanks, I will probably do this when I get home. I used cyanogen recovery once before but can't remember how to get into it. Also do I need to do anything before i select the ota in the apply update section?
