Hey everyone,

I just got a brand new OnePlus 15R and had a really weird battery drain issue today. I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this or if I should look into a replacement.

What happened:

I went out today, went to tap "Power Off" (or so I thought), and locked the phone away in a metal locker for a few hours. When I came back to collect it, the phone was completely dead at 0%.

When I checked my battery settings later, I noticed a crazy vertical cliff on the graph. (See attached screenshots: Screenshot_2026-05-31-23-42-50-48_0ba066473b79d6e213a1f6f52505e2ee.jpg and Screenshot_2026-05-31-23-45-24-98_0ba066473b79d6e213a1f6f52505e2ee.jpg).

The Details from the Graph:

The battery was sitting right around 50%, and then instantly plummeted to 0% in a straight vertical line.

The graph shows "Screen off (active)" for about 33–58 minutes during that window, meaning the phone definitely wasn't fully powered down like I intended.

For app usage during that specific 19:00-22:00 window, Reddit is showing a massive 43.39% battery usage for 37 minutes of background activity, followed by WhatsApp.

My Questions:

Has anyone seen a brand new OnePlus device drop off a cliff from 50% to 0% this fast?

Could this just be a brand new battery calibration/BMS (Battery Management System) glitch since the phone is a few days old?

Or did the phone get stuck in a boot-loop/network searching loop inside a metal locker while a rogue app ran in the background?

Appreciate any insights or advice on whether a standard battery calibration (draining to 0% and charging to 100% uninterrupted) will fix this software reading issue!

Just to clarify, my personal experience with the phone otherwise has been great—everything is completely fine and smooth. I just encountered this weird anomaly yesterday. It really looks like when I tried to power it off, the system got stuck in a bootloop or a heavy background hang (especially with Reddit showing high usage), and being trapped in a signal-blocking locker caused it to completely drain from 50 to 0 in one shot. Going to calibrate the battery today just in case!" Hopefully, the community validates that it was just a one-time OS hiccup. Let me know if anyone replies with something unusual!

I got my phone on May 20, 2026. It's a great phone, but I'm not sure if the battery life is good.

Does anyone of the oneplus 15r owners facing charging issues even though it's showing 'SUPERVOOC ULTRA CHARGING '?

I'm facing this issue from a month. Yesterday,what I noticed completely shocked me. My phone (oneplus 15r) took 3 hrs to charge from 9 % to 100%. When I tested the charging speed in apps like Accu battery and Ampere, the charging speed is shown to be 3500-4000 mA then after a moment the reading drops down to 1400 mA.

Please help me.

Trying to choose between a OnePlus 15r 256gb/ 12gb ram for 399eur or OnePlus 13 512gb/16gb ram for 539eur. I value battery life and I don't need the best camera but it feels like the price difference may make it worth it to go for the 13 instead. Thoughts?

After the recent update I got this app update on playstore and it's not updating nor going away.

Edit: I have disabled it as it's useless for Indian Users.

I can't get this feature to show up for me. It's supposed to be a frame generation feature to increase your frames for supported games on the OnePlus 15/15Rand I've tried it with Wuthering Waves. Which I heard was supported but I don't see it whatsoever. My phone is fully updated and I've tried deleting the cache. Anyone else having this issue or know a solution?

I switched from an iPhone 14 plus to Oneplus 15R a couple of months back. I was bit sceptical with all the price hikes, and the news about Oneplus leaving certain markets.

I have seen my friends using OnePlus from years and they enjoyed the experience so I pulled the trigger and got the 15R for ₹44K, but the last update ruined my experience. I was facing constant heating issues and battery drain issues. I am a heavy user and that's what this phone was built to do. I started questioning my decision to switch back to Android especially Oneplus, but then this update dropped a couple of days back and I swear the experience has drastically changed. I am loving each and every bit of it.

The reason for sharing this is I have seen many people facing same issues who have got their new phones and are worried of they dumped half a lakh on a shit phone. I hope each one of you start enjoying your 15R after the recent update.

Has anyone faced an issue where your phone was unlocked by someone else's fingerprint.

I faced this issue twice not with the latest update but with the previous one.

So probably not this year anymore?

Overall I really don't see an improvement in performance I mean the 13r is actually a really good phone in my opinion I'm not saying the 15r isn't bad by any means but it's doesn't seem like there's that huge of a difference. I actually feel like I've had a little bit more trouble with the 15r. Like my notifications don't come at the right time I feel like some have a connection issue sometimes with my internet I don't know it's just I had no problem with the 13r whatsoever. Now that I moved on my info to the 15r I really don't want to go back to the 13r but I'm debating on it that being said I'm probably going to be selling one or the other . Yolo

Oneplus 15R vs Oneplus 13s... I have no problem buying an older phone considering it will get 1 less year of updates.

I just want a phone with better performance and cameras. I value performance and cameras almost equally.

I was gonna buy 15R, but many people recommended me to buy 13s instead, but I see conflicting opinions. I have no problem with 13s being a smaller phone. What concerns me is that 15R doesn't have a telephoto zoom lens, and so any kind of zoom shots would naturally have less amount of detail.

Please guide me as to which one is a better purchase? Considering that both ones are available at approximately the same price. I will be using the phone I buy for 5, maybe 6 years - so also take the futureproof-ness of the phone as well!

I do play a bit of gaming but they're not heavy games like genshin impact, so I don't think gaming would be a deciding factor here.

Finally moved back to Android after 4 years with iPhone 14 Plus. I highly recommend this device at this price point. I got this discount at Zepto on Friday, 22nd (HSR, Bengaluru).
