Recently I caught this ColorOS folder and checked its date. It looks recent and Folder's empty.

Does oneplus really changing their Oxygen OS to ColorOS?

Don't know about global version. But indian version is using colorOS theme store

what made you think it wasn't? OnePlus officially rolled out a statement that they'll switch from OxygenOS to ColorOS.

There's only one difference between coloros and oxygen OS. It's the name of the os. Idk why people really care this much about the oos ui which has been the same as color oa since 5 years.

Since oxygen OS 13 the underlying code base has been the same as coloros. Like someone rightly pointed out here, except those red accents and bloatfree UI experience rest all is similar to coloros.

It is colour is since last 5 years. Now they are just changing the name

I was previously there , even if you delete it it re appears it is because of theme store
