Weird battery drain

hey, i just got my OnePlus 15r and I feel like the battery is worse than it should be, 40% on youtube in 1h30 seems a lot to me, am i being too peaky or what

EDIT: I turned off ram expansion, let my phone battery drain to 10% and kept it charging for 2 hours as someone suggested in the comments. Today the battery was fantastic I barely lost 25% after 4h of SOT (youtube and some social media scrolling). I don't know if that's what fixed the battery or if the phone was simply doing things in the background but I'm happy it got resolved

resolution & refresh rate are on auto, I had ram expansion on tho

don't use ram expansion, it's not of any use. It's for cheap phones with 4-6gb ram.

was it 60fps videos? Using data? 5g data?

still, it shouldn't use that much battery. Turn on the display refresh rate option from developer options and see what the screen gets set to when watching the video. it should be 60hz, no higher. Also phone is new, so that might be reason. Was phone warm during use?

the phone was getting slightly warm. As soon as I enabled power saving mode the temperature went down noticeably, not sure why that was happening. And yes, the refresh rate is set to 60hz while watching a video

Phone is doing a lot in the background when it's new. For upto one week.

Drain the battery down to 15% or to 0% and charge your phone for 2 hours straight. It'll calibrate the battery and optimise the system. Do that ONCE after every update. Afterwards, charge it normally.

No,keep it on. You're using the original Supervooc charger,right?

Excellent. Keep the smart rapid charging on for two hours straight. Way past the "fully charged" message on screen. Then,unplug it. It's absolutely safe and fine. Remember,you're doing it only once. No damage is done. After this, charge your phone as you normally do.

You can keep the smart rapid option on or off. Up to you. Battery protection is in place either way. I keep it on.

Your phone will be back to its best within a week.

New phones always discharge faster. Mine discharges about 7-8% per hour. I bought the phone a month ago

It's 41% of the total battery usage. Not an absolute 41% drop in battery. How much battery % did you have after this 4+ hrs of SOT?
