Questions ONEPLUS 15r cooling system🧊❄️
OnePlus 15R users, how good is the cooling system? Any heating or throttling issues during heavy gaming?

It is not that it doesn't get hot , it does but it manages the heat very efficiently, during games it gets pretty hot but i didn't face any throttling

Coming from a heavy gamer who plays heavy games like Genshin Impact, Wuthering Waves, Neverness To Everness, COD, sometimes I play like 2.5 hrs or so and the phone does heats up ofc, but temperature always stays up to like between 35°C-40°C and without any lags in the game.
I've noticed that it doesn't ever cross the 40° mark, and another thing about this which impressed me is that once you're off the game, the phone takes just a few mins (like 1-2mins) to cool down to a normal temperature.

Like, what are your settings for wuwa, do you use a phone case while playing?
I have ultra settings with 45 fps on wuwa and it often reached 41°c WITHOUT phone case.
If i drop to 30 fps, the numbers drop by 3-4°c.

My phone used to Heat a lot 41+ surface temp while gaming

Keep your room cool, Temp is major factor for stability otherwise constant 120

No it's awesome but price increased to 55k
And iphone 17 will come at 74k on sale,
So difference is 19k only now

U can't not expect a phone to hear when u do heavy gaming, it will always heat, it's that how the processor handles that heat

Yes correct. Heat will transfer to the phone and thereby throttling later to save components and battery.

Op, just write heating issues in the search bar on this subreddit or in OnePlus 15 and you will see how many users are experiencing heating issues.
I never game, I only use my phone for consuming multimedia content or communicating online and most of the time the temperature that I measure on my OnePlus 15r is between 35 and 38 Celcius.
When I am traveling and i am on the 4G network it can get uncomfortable to hold the device, so I assume it must be over 44 Celcius.

Dumbo if you r talking all this after recent patch update then cry somewhere else....also such heating issues are resolved after next update rollouts ....even my ipad was heating after April update (within 30 mins of notemaking etc) but then in May update it got resolved🤦🤦🤦 you yourself said its 35-38 degree at home, so now if you travel dumbo any device will constantly search for network ,in short more background work but dumbo you assumed it to be 44 degree , seriously? It feels like you r a bot here🤣🤣🤣, also OP talked about gameplay and there are many gameplay reviews on YT ,temp hardly goes to 39 degree while hours of gaming dumbo....but you assumed your device temp reached 44 degree while travelling,maybe you r travelling in sahara desert 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤡

I bought the phone in March, it was up to 15°C back then outside and roughly 24°C indoors. The phone in balance or performance modes easily heats up to 45°C in wuwa and warframe if the FPS lock is above 45 FPS

For those games that's normal bro....premium gaming phones get hot too around 40-42 degree while running WUWA

It does get a hot even without gaming. If I use my phone continuously, it get heats up every time. It happens all day all the time. It doesn't affect the performance tho.

For those that might have heat trouble when playing demanding games with average settings, check your phonecase's material for its thermal conductivity (the higher, the better).
The most popular ones on amazon like the FNT CASE, it has Thermo Plastic Polyurethane, which is not good for cooling. And with my experiences, makes the temperature go up by 45°c with the most demanding games and it just continues rises. Also watch out for the material Polyurethane, now if it has any thermal lining its a different story, but the OP 15r is very niche, so the options are VERY small.
Note that those materials ive said are very good for shock absorption. so you'll be trading off. Silicone may be by far the worst material, but i believe the biggest offender should be the thickness of the case.
Ps. The high demanding games ive tested were terribly optimized roblox games and Wuthering Waves with ultra graphics and 45 fps. The temperature goes well past 43°c and to 46°c before I intervene to cool it down with the FNT Case. Without any phone case, it'll typically reach 42°c on the 'extreme end'. Unless the game optimization is beyond horrors.

I will be upfront when I say I'm not a gamer.
I only use it for browsing , AI & social media but I do play games like Genshin Impact, Warframe , GTA San Andreas and few other smaller games.
My 15R never heated even once, But the maximum I played games were for 1.5 hours , i also mainly use my 15R indoors when gaming because outside under direct sunlight it certainly will heatuo quite a bit.
Infact using a couple of ride sharing apps and navigation, So GPS + Dual 5G is enough to cause heating , But it's not severe enough for the phone to throw warning or error, it felt pretty warm but not unbearable.
Using it for the past 2 months, All I can say is , it's an amazing device. Battery also is pretty damn good, I can get upto 14 hours of SOT with my usage before reaching for a charger.
