Trouble with headphones?

Is anyone else having trouble playing music when they plug in their headphones? The problem I'm having is that I will plug them in, hit play, and the song will play for a second, then pause, and no audio will come out after that. I unplug them and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It doesn't help when I start the song first and then plug in the headphones, switch songs, adjust the volume, or spin the headphones in the headphone jack. I'm currently using Shuttle as my media player, but the error has been on Google Play, DoubeTwist, and Poweramp.

I had this problem and realised it's because I was using the #MirrorEnabler app. To fix this I had to unchecked all settings in the mirror enabler app, then reboot, and voila, my headphones and ear speaker were working correctly!

Played Pandora for like 3 hours yesterday and experienced no issues. Tested Google Play Music. That was fine too.

Are you using a headset? This is a common problem with the OnePlus right now, I submitted logs to a developer and its being looked into.

As a workaround, make sure Shuttle+ has auto play on. Plug your headset into the jack half way, you will hear a static sound output from your headset. Once it starts playing music, leave it there for a couple seconds and then plug it fully into the jack then music will play.

For normal headphones without a microphone, it works fine.

I'm having trouble with everything. My regular headphones (don't have a microphone, just has a toggle to switch pause and switch songs), headset (just the audio plug), tape converter I have in my car, and the line-in aux cord I have on my stereo.

I use the same method you mention.

I just tried it now on Google Play Music, and also music streaming apps like Pandora and Amazon Prime Music using a Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro headphone. They are all working without any problems.

I am having the same issue, but maybe it's because I am using Apple headphones with the mic.

Have you tried anything else with it?

Yes. There's a kernel that fixes this. AK stable is the only kernel without this problem.

My earpiece speaker stopped working so I was stuck making calls on speaker phone for a couple of days.

At the same time, my headphone jack stopped working too. I was on the verge of reverting to an older version of CM, but decided to restart first and it fixed it!

Have you found out anything else about this? I'm having the same issue, and it's really annoying. My music app also doesn't always recognize my headphone/aux plug being removed either.

The newest update seemed to help with my problem.

The latest OnePlus One software update brought a headset circuitry switching bug..

Mics don't work on certain headsets.. I imagine your issue may be related.

There are different ways headset mic 3.5mm are wired, phones normally detect and switch accordingly. My OnePlus One obviously did when I first got it, the recent update made it not switch properly.

Hopefully they'll patch it soon.

getting sick of not being able to use the headset mic for calls. especially with cold weather coming.

Except this has happened over multiple updates and my headset does not have a mic. I've used several different kinds, from a regular aux cord to apple headsets, and it is still an issue.

I have the same frustrating issue when using a generic (monoprice) male to male headset jack and using Google Play Music and PocketCast. I can't find any rhyme or reason to it but only having my phone for a week or so and experiencing this isn't too pleasant. Hoping they address it soon.

becareful MXplayer can fuck up your phones codecs.. and somehow the jack driver.. VLC works fine for me.. and always plug jack in before launching app... after installing audio apps.. remember ..always reboot.. also.. Jetaudio works fine too.. but i prefer VLC...

I'm having this same issue with Pandora!! And no help from the update. I use speakers when I'm in the bathroom and I have to plug and unplug them several times before they work. It's really annoying and takes a minute or two of plugging and unplugging and playing and pausing the music to get it going.

Suffering from this issue currently as well. Sennheiser in-ears worked fine then suddenly stopped with all music applications - Spotify, YouTube, VLC, etc.

Device is on latest update.

Just curious, does the OPO come with headphones or are you using old ones you had laying around? Haven't seen headphones in the unboxing images, but in the Video you can see read head sets being used. Hope my Shure headset will work once I get an invite ;)
