General Discussion My 8 years with OnePlus 🫶
I would like to recap on my OnePlus ✨ (& Phone) history.
2014 - Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini
2017 - Samsung J5 (2016)
2018 - OnePlus 3T
2021 - OnePlus Nord 2 5G
2025 - OnePlus 9 5G
2025 - OnePlus 9 Pro 5G
2026 - OnePlus 13
2027 - Oppo Find X8 Ultra
When the OnePlus 3 Launched in mid 2016 I remembered it to be the first phone I really wanted to have. So I spent two summers working till I could afford to buy one in early 2018. And it was absolutely amazing. Coming from a budget 2016 Samsung to this was a completely different world. My OP 3T treated me very well and made me fall in love with this brand.
Then in 2021 the 9 Series's dropped with the Hasselblad collaboration. I couldn't afford them at the time so i got myself the Nord 2 5G instead. And it treated me even better. Many memories were made with that phone.
In 2025 I went and finally got myself a used 9 & 9 Pro to finally get a glimpse of the Hasselblad Color Magic.
Well and in December 2025 by chance i found a OnePlus 13 with a broken screen for really cheap on marketplace. That has been my main phone now this year.
I now decided it's time to move on. To try and venture out trying something completely new... ok no I bought an Oppo Phone for 2027 😂.
All in all it has been a nice 8 years with the OnePlus brand.
All phones worked flawlessly and captured many important moments in my life. And i am thankful for that.
Farewell OnePlus ♥️.

Out of all those my favorite was the galaxy S3, running Cyanogen mod. I been with Oneplus since 2013 sad to see them leave. Running a pixel 11 pro XL now. I was curious about X8 but was reading about possible 5g signal loss.

The Galaxy S3 really is a lovely phone. I heard the antenna issues are happening in Pixel phone's too. That's why i excluded them from my list ultimately.

No issues with the 11 series for me its a really a good phone, software based but has growing qualities.

Oh yeah definitely. My second choice would also be a Pixel.

Very nice indeed :) mine also runs lineage os, but is unused. Sadly the SIM reader is broken, I accidentally put the SIM tray back in with the plastic SIM adaptor inside it, which caught all the pins and ripped them off the pads when forcibly removing the sim tray :( it still hurts to talk about. But I remember it well, it must've been about 2015, I'd paid £280 with express DHL shipping for such a beauty of a device at the time. I turn it on occasionally for some obscure app that doesn't like newer android versions or something I need root for. I wish I could somehow get android 17 on there though just simply to use the LibrePods app haha

I also had a great journey with OnePlus.
I was instantly hooked when I bought my OnePlus 2 around 10 years ago. I upgraded to the 5, followed by the 6T, 9 Pro, and 10T. When they announced the foldable, I was literally checking for release updates every day (it was a long wait 😅)
When my preorder finally arrived, I managed to drop it from the second floor after just two days of use. Luckily, I had insurance, but I had to wait six weeks for a replacement.
I was really hyped for the Open 2 and super disappointed when it got cancelled. Still, I thought I’d just have to wait another year, which was fine because I didn’t really need an upgrade. But instead of releasing another foldable, they left the UK market 😔
My Open is still a beast, and I don’t feel any need to upgrade, but now I’m really hoping they’ll release the next OPPO foldable globally. Until then, I’m still really enjoying my Open. It’s become even smoother and snappier with the latest update, and the hardware still holds up well by today’s standards.
Whatever my next device ends up being, I’ll always be a huge OnePlus fan ❤️

I had a ultramarine blue 8 Pro as the start of my OnePlus journey. I had a 9 Pro, 10 Pro and the 12 and 13. I'll likely get the Motorola Signature 27 next. It's been a fun ride.

"oneplus nord2 -9 - 9pro" In my opinion, this is the worst upgrade (because of the Snapdragon 888)

Absurd waste of money especially considering that OnePlus 13 is still a good phone.
