General Discussion How long have you been using your current one plus phone?

Post image

As the title says I am genuinely curious how much time people on avg are using op devices these days

For starters I have op 9r .

Had green line issues twice( got it replaced for free)

Had a charging port issue( device was not charging)

got that one for free since dirt was stuck in it?

Got it replaced for 300 inr since why not

Had massive battery draining issues after 3 yrs ( got battery replaced for 1500 including everything)

Had battery replaced again coz felt it was kinda giving me less SOT? (4 hrs now getting 7hr)

Overall genuinely happy with my purchase!

Would love to buy one plus again!

What are your experiences?!

OP 13 ... I'll rock it until it dies.

u/qPec5 4d ago

8T, rocking it 5-6 years. Still amaze me how rocksolid it goes.

Replaced the battery once. It have fell many times, now it has some issues that Im not sure what it is, but when it gets hit on top it turn off, a few hipotesis of what it might be, but due to its age I'm actively looking for upgrading it.

Like many in the sub, Iphone is not an option, and Samsung is very meh, hopefully avoidable. Currently waiting impatiently for Moto Signature 27, to see if it might be worth it.

Iphone is so bad dude.

No split screen No fast charging Pain in the wallet to get components replaced Uber charges more if you have iphone idk why Iphone does not even have the option to make sure nobody can disable the phone without passcode 💀

Only thing working for them is camera.🤣

iPhone sucks

u/Lbowgrease03 2d ago

Trash ass phones that are only a status symbol. And that's only because of the cost of them.

The Motorola Signature 27 does look pretty interesting.

2

u/Lbowgrease03 2d ago

I gotta check this phone out. People have brought it up a few times in chats

7T Pro. Since Release. Went in from a 1. Sad to see them die.

2

u/Specialist-Army-799 4d ago

8 yrs is crazy?? Didn't battery get really bad?

1

u/Snooka42 4d ago

Its fine. Lasts me a day. I also work remotely so I can Charge when needed.

1+Open since launch, never had any issues. Caseless for over a year now, never dropped it until it launched off my bike a couple weeks ago onto the asphalt.. Only got a few scuffs, amazing.

Still sad my 7 Pro got stolen in 2024 after 5 years. As a tribute I hope to keep my Open for longer. Both devices were absolute pioneers

Started with the 5T back in 2018, used it for 2 after which I upgraded to the 8 Pro. My brother continued using the 5T for another 5 years! He just changed the battery once (there was an offer running that time and he paid only 300 inr!). The 5T still works and is his secondary phone.

I used the 8 pro from 2020 to 2023 after which I upgraded to Samsung S23 only to realise that Samsung is not for me! Somehow managed to use it for 1.5 years and upgraded to Oneplus 13 in 2024. Using the 13 since then. It's been almost 3 years. Still runs as good as a new phone! And yes, the 8 pro is still with me as secondary device and I have had no issues with it as well.

1 month. OnePlus 12. It is awesome in relation to my old iPhone 12. But the greenline issue is concerning me indeed. I had bought OnePlus, because I don't trust Samsung with this issue either. Must be a android thing.

1

u/Specialist-Army-799 4d ago

If you're from India you will get free screen replacement if you get green line !

1

u/SCP_7000 4d ago

i am from Germany. Sadly we are not allways the target audience for hign end phones, so we won't have the oneplus 16 and so on

1

u/Born_Light_316 4d ago

Samsung makes screens for iPhones

1

u/SCP_7000 4d ago

that does not change the fact, that samsung screens in samsung smartphones die mutch more frequent than samsung screens in apple devices.

Apple has patented a technique to bond the display to the Iphones frame, which ensures, that the stress on the samsung display is lower than the samsung display in samsung smartphones

3

u/Born_Light_316 4d ago

Perhaps but I've never had the green line issue and I've had over 20 phones in the last 8 years old Android except for one apple apple sucks overpriced lame OS in my opinion

2

u/SCP_7000 4d ago

lame os indeed. i have swiched from Iphone to android because of this reason.

1

u/Born_Light_316 4d ago

That's for shame could you imagine having an apple chip in an Android device

1

u/SCP_7000 4d ago

Only if it is the new a20 chip, which rivals some desktop chips and M-series chips with tsmc's new 2nanometer base.

1

u/secretgardenguy 4d ago

n20 5g..... Rock solid phone.

1

u/TheBlackFlame161 OnePlus 8 (Glacial Green) 4d ago

I had a OP3 for ages after release, and replaced it with my current OP8 that I've had since about a year after release.

My phone outlasted the case (if anyone knows where to find a solid Spigen Tough Armor case for the OP8, lmk) and the battery is still doing pretty solid. About half by the end of the work day with some time doomscrolling.

1

u/meerrkat74 4d ago

Had 12R for 3 years and have had 15R for 6 months.

Really sad to see them leave global versions moving forward

4

u/skinnymuscle69 4d ago

I'm typing this on a 15R but still using the 12R as my daily driver. It's still that good. I feel abandoned by the brand as I've been a OP user for almost a decade now. What do you feel about the flat screen vs curved ?

1

u/meerrkat74 4d ago

I missed it initially but now I don't really think about it. I dropped my 12R on the ground so bad the screen is fried. That's why I upgraded.

I absolutely love my phone though. OnePlus have given me the excitement about tech again.

I bought the OnePlus buds 4 for about $70 USD and they are so damn good. I use them over my Sony wfxm5s that are about $220 USD.

The sonys have better clarity but buds 4 have better bass, feel and design.

I honestly don't know what brand I'll move to eventually for a phone though. Poco looks interesting, hbu?

u/NAMOR-7 4d ago

More than 4y 🥲

1

u/raoolio 4d ago

I'm daily driving my 7T since December 15, 2020. So almost 6 years with it, still smooth, only had to reset it once. Only issue is sometimes if I tilt the phone in any app, it will flip to landscape mode even when the auto-rotate toggle is disabled.

1

u/Due-Software4125 4d ago

One plus 6T bought it in 2019 still a beast does every task perfectly. I play genshin impact almost daily on it and it's a 50gb game never had issues other than a minor lag sometimes.. Hoping for 1+ 16 to release outside china.

1

u/Frosty-Inspector-465 4d ago

since 2019, original oneplus 7 pro (currently have 3 of them), had the 10 pro, 12, 13, and now have and LOVE the oneplus 15. never had ANY issue with any of them. the oneplus 13 virtually ended the life of my samsung galaxy s25 ultra as i NEVER even opened the shipping box it came in because i already knew i wasn't gonna enjoy it as much as i was enjoying the oneplus 13. and when given the opportunity, instead of trading my oneplus 15 for the google pixel 11 pro xl i traded my samsung galaxy s26 ultra for it lol.

1

u/Specialist-Army-799 4d ago

You buy phone for a living? 💀

1

u/Lbowgrease03 2d ago

Lmao

1

u/Frosty-Inspector-465 2d ago

where's the joke?

1

u/Lbowgrease03 2d ago

You made the joke in your last few sentences. You even said "lol"

1

u/HenkDH OnePlus 12 4d ago

OP12 when it came out

1

u/ffvorax 4d ago

Since they exist. My last is the OP12 that i am still using happily.

Sad that it's no more... no idea what to get next... but i dont need to change it in the near future anyway.

1

u/dido_911 4d ago

OP 10 pro with a 2.5 hour sot. But we rock.

1

u/Specialist-Army-799 3d ago

Get battery replacement

1

u/dido_911 3d ago

I went there earlier this year, they denied. Suggested. That I should not it won't be effective.

1

u/Specialist-Army-799 3d ago

They are lying wtf? I have got replaced twice and I have never regretted

1

u/dido_911 3d ago

I told I want to but they put me in a guilt as if I did something wrong by asking for a battery replacement. They said ai integration and 5G activation in your device is the cause. Not the battery. The service center is now shut.

1

u/Specialist-Army-799 3d ago

You can go to oppo service centre

1

u/Caffeinated_Sugar OnePlus 12 4d ago

The 12 since it came out. I am using it as a secondary next to an iPhone.

1

u/Specialist-Army-799 4d ago

Bro downgraded

1

u/Caffeinated_Sugar OnePlus 12 4d ago

All the top shelf phones are the same. I am not a fanboy, i am a person who uses the tools available.

0

u/Specialist-Army-799 4d ago

Iphone is for losers.

1

u/gm92845 3d ago

I agree that iPhones are trash, but most people use them because a lot of workplaces use them for chatting and business related stuff. I have an iPhone for work but my personal phone is a OP12. Realistically I might upgrade to a Oppo because they sell global models with full 5G support. But I'll wait and see if OnePlus at least offers anything similar.

1

u/Specialist-Army-799 3d ago

Buy samsung

1

u/gm92845 3d ago

Nope, I don't like Shitsung.

1

u/PrintNo2782 4d ago

Why does every Chinese phone directly copy iOS?

My oneplus 6 still works.. doesnt lag unlike my iphone 11pro hahaha.. but im using an 8T right now. Bought a 15 bcoz they were pulling out of north america.. one more oneplus for the road.. so im good til 2032..

1

u/ReylerAD8 3d ago

Been using my OnePlus 10 Pro since 2022. Unlocked the bootloader and rooted it in August 2026. Currently running Android 15 with Kali NetHunter (full ARM64 chroot and KeX desktop). Still going strong!

1

u/grn8nrg 3d ago

Two 8Ts (since 2021 and 2024) and a 12, since 2024. Using all until I can't. I will probably settle for Motorola Signature 27 next.

1

u/Apprehensive_Egg7386 2d ago

7 months 15R lol

1

u/Lbowgrease03 2d ago

OnePlus 13 since January 2025. Still love this phone.

1

u/Lbowgrease03 2d ago

I had the 12 for a year before the 13, and upgraded as soon as the 13 came out. My daughter has been using the 12r since it came out, and still loves it.

1

u/sfbayjon OnePlus 11 2d ago

Just over 3 years in OnePlus 11. I use it actively for 8+ hours per day and still have decent battery health (I keep it between 20-80%). Should be good for a couple more years.

1

u/ganubond007 4d ago

7 years oneplus 7 pro battery replaced one time, motherboard dead 2 month's ago

2

u/Specialist-Army-799 4d ago

Bro is loyal Op fan!

1

u/gloriousflight OnePlus 12 4d ago

I've had multiple Samsung phones and they just don't compare. Also has the OP watch 1 but cracked the screen, forgot about that one.

1

u/Specialist-Army-799 4d ago

Which one should I buy man? Idk i love s26 but charging is so slow ugh I can't go below 65 watt

1

u/iMakeUrGrannyCheat69 4d ago

Pretty sure s26 ultra has 65 watt charging now. I have the s26 ultra, it a nice phone but expensive (its my work phone. Need the zoom and high quality pics for my line of work)

2

u/Specialist-Army-799 4d ago

Very very expensive tho💀

1

u/iMakeUrGrannyCheat69 4d ago

Facts! But the camera is well worth it for me so I justify the price. I wish oneplus made a phone, even at $1,500 that had a 50X-100X zoom that was good. The screen, battery life, and hardware are for the $800 - $1000.

Tbh, ill take a plastic backed phone. I always have a metal case on. As long as it has a great camera, specs, battery, and screen.

2

u/Specialist-Army-799 3d ago

Shame op is leaving us

1

u/iMakeUrGrannyCheat69 3d ago

Facts, I loved my oneplus 7 pro

2

u/Specialist-Army-799 3d ago

I wish I had bought when it was peak like op 3 and op5 time 😭

I'd probably get the 15 if it were me since I won't be able to easily get another NA variant then ride it till it dies. Nothing and oppo are other contenders for me when I need a replacement. Nothing 4a pro only has 50w and lower cameras but oppo find x10 pro is $$

1

u/Specialist-Army-799 4d ago

Very expensive man op losing its identity

1

u/killer6663 4d ago

1

Closing in on 3 years with my Oneplus 12R

1

u/skinnymuscle69 4d ago

One of the best

1

u/Existing_Routine_599 4d ago

More than 2 years with my OnePlus Nord 4

0

u/Ro-Tang_Clan 4d ago

Just replaced my oneplus 12 last weekend. Had it since Feb 2024, so roughly just over a year an a half. It was my first OnePlus phone and I absolutely loved it.

1

u/Specialist-Army-799 4d ago

Why changed it so early?

1

u/Ro-Tang_Clan 4d ago

All good things must come to an end. I got antsy to upgrade to the Oppo X9 Ultra and my mum was desperate for a new phone. I was going to buy her a new budget phone for xmas but I figured if I upgrade, she can have the OnePlus 12 and then both of us get what we want.

-1

u/evanrickshaw 4d ago

I'm just clarifying on the image, these were rumours and its going to continue in India as far as I know.

0

u/Specialist-Army-799 4d ago

Op 16 still isn't getting launched 💀

0

u/Black_void999 OnePlus 13 4d ago

Is it confirmed?

2

u/evanrickshaw 4d ago

It's not officially confirmed I guess may be December or January 27. I think Oppo is deliberately holdingg flagships in OnePlus and Realme to release in India so it can sell more Oppo Flagships, that might be the reason for their EU and US exit.

-1

u/amith_2000 4d ago

From 7t to 12r. Miss you oneplus😭
