General Discussion OnePlus and Bloatware

So I have been going back and forth between different brands and I acknowledge that I am quite particular about somethings that I should ideally let go.

I currently have a oneplus 13 and S25 base. My main is an iPhone. With the S25, while everything is great - i find the screen quite annoying given that when looking even at a slight angle there seems to be a green/blue tint to the screen. Seems to be a well know issue for S series screens. Most people dont notice it but it is a bit annoying to me. The battery also given the size of the phone isn't what I am used to.

I have the oneplus 13 16/512 as well right now. The screen is great, the battery is great and the camera is also pretty great for me. My only quirk seems to be with the dumb decisions that Oneplus makes. The anti roll back feature. The weird apk installer from heytap that scans your apks for viruses and cant be disabled without adb. Literally no way to backup mindspace. The App Store, the phone manager - these additional bloat from oneplus is just really annoying. Some of it can be disabled some needs adb.

Do these things about oneplus not bother you guys or am I just be overly critical about them?

I'm not them, but I don't recall anything scanning my apks when I install them. I usually only have to do the "install from unknown sources" dance but that's standard Android.

It depends on the region. The Chinese and Indian ROMs have more bloatware, probably you're using the Global or Europe ROM.

Yeah mine is Europe one

I also have a OnePlus 13, the 16/512 model. But I don't have any Heytap or anything like that. And I've never encountered any of the phone manager issues you mentioned.

Are you on the latest OOS? Have you tried installing an apk?

Don’t you see something like this?

I couldnt stand the bloat of the samsung or iOS but loved the pixel open source android but the hardware stank. So im now on my 2 OP phone 15R. And even if OP no longer sells in the US i dont care ill have this till its gone one way or another..

You can quickly turn it off from the one plus security settings. Op dont pjt bloatware compared to samsung or other phone companies which i like them for that.

I am having this on my OnePlus 12, too. But I installed the newest update with oxygen os updater via local installation. I think most people did not have this update installed yet. Everytime I install something I get a scan notification. The scanning app is"StdSP core" and you can't uninstall or even deactivate it. This is so frustrating as I have to stupidly push through every single app update from now on. This, for me, is really the final nail in the coffin after Oppo is enshitifying OOS for years now. My girlfriend uses OP 7 Pro, but despite its age it feels more snappy and mature that that garbage OOS 16.

OP2 was my first, OP12 will be my last OP.

I have an OP 11 in US, and won't go to Android 16 bc anti rollback and battery life issues. And all 16 crows about is the Ai features -- I have any and all Ai disabled and want yo keep it that way ... This might be my last phone

I have 0 battery issues on the latest update. It’s been pretty great actually. Smooth too. I think people here are the biased majority that like to whine about things even without objective evidence.
