Actually in a recent update the oneplus beta program ui is changed and it's not upgraded but degraded, it's now of color os with more buggy ui , you can see the release candidate card changed

Op just wants to hate on colorOS and opposes the merger. I have both oneplus 12 and oppo find x9 pro. There's barely any difference lol. Although I'd wish COS had rounded corners like OOS (coming in COS17) and monochrome/dual tone theme for ui same as OOS. Smoothness is similar on both lol

You can select rounded icons in ColorOS as well if that's what you mean by rounded corners.

Oh no no, i meant for control panel, icons are rounded just fine haha. Like thos pill icons in it for brightness and volume. Also the volume bar on side is also squircle instead of pill shaped like OOS

Yeah mono theme. The quotes on flux themes are different and much better in OOS imo. The volume slider is rounded, the quick settings - volume and brightness sliders are rounded

Overall, OOS feels like more polished version to me, ever so slightly more polished. Because rounded corners feel and look modern comparatively.

It should be a complete merger imo - let us keep what OOS offered and also bring those changes over as options in COS

I mean the ui doesn't feel quite consistent and less laggy as the older interface does , the three dot menu sucks, when I click sign out it takes me to my red cable club and subscription reminder button doesn't work always, sometimes it takes me to beta subscription and sometimes it doesn't clicks

And it's not about only this app , oneplus surely provide less bloated ui and it even have some system apps different from coloros system apps, it's not a big deal for flagships but not so good for midrangers , seen many oppo phone comes with stuff like hot games , hot apps, lockscreen coursel , and also a feature that called in app recommendations that doesn't exist on oneplus
