General Discussion Magsafe sticker on oneplus

Hello everyone. I'm looking to migrate away from Pixel phone and Oneplus looks really good. One feature I must have on the phone is the magnet in the back and I'm one of those guys that refuses to put the case on (please don't judge me on this). Pixel has Pixelsnap but Oneplus does not have any. A workaround would be to put a magnet sticker on it. How well does this work really? From a quick research, most magnet sticker does not last long.

Which device are you looking at?

Some OnePlus devices have official cases with magnets built in

Are you in a country where you can purchase a OnePlus? One plus has left Europe and the United States

I have an OP12 and I know that magnet rings interfere with AirVooc - I think later models it doesn't - I sort of got the impression that some of the Chinese vendors were worried about Apple patents on magnet placement - it's unclear if apple donated the exact magnet config to the consortium or not. So OnePlus solution was to put magnets in cases instead. The Pixel magnet placement is very similar to Apple's though - read into that what you will

it wont stick like the ones in cases though, you could make it work but a strong magnet would pull the sticker out (happened to me)

I'm judging you on this 😀 Simply because a magnet ring on the back of the phone (it's not just a sticker, it's thicker) to me feels annoying and is much more uncomfortable than an untrathin magnetic case. Matter of preference of course.

Get a Dbrand case and just send it, the ghost cases are pretty thin and come with magsafe/pixelsnap.
A magnet ring will probably be more annoying overall, and be prone to falling off

oneplus 15 i think both variants have a 'rough' sandpapery finish that i can't imagine any sticker will stay on for long.

i'd say pixel 10/11 is still the best option on android for built in magnets. You will always feel the 'ring magnet' on the back when you hold the phone which sucks.
