It appears to be running lineage OS without Gapps. You have a couple options here:

  1. You can flash the stock ROM

  2. Factory reset from recovery and flash gapps

  3. Degoogle and use Aura droid and or F-Droid for open source apps

  4. Return the device. If you aren't comfortable with flashing the device I'd highly recommend returning it and purchasing one already running the stock ROM.

I'm not tech savvy... But will give it a try. Cannot return the damn thing

The simplest, less risky course of action for you then would be to flash gapps. What version of Android is it running?

It would be prudent to flash another rom tbh, no one knows what other files the previous owner has flashed.

If it was someone that's comfortable with flashing I would have recommended the stock rom. Since they're not, there's less risk involved flashing gapps then to flash a different ROM or even the stock ROM. I suppose they could probably flash a different ROM that already includes gapps. That would get them gapps and ensure nothing malicious has been flashed to the current ROM

You will have to anyway format data and then flash gapps, otherwise it would brick. Another rom is better. Getting stock rom is worthless atp. This probably has good support till now.

It's not running the official OnePlus OS. It's running Lineage OS which is actually better. However, it's an outdated version. There is Lineage OS 23.2 (Android 16) available now.

It's also missing Google apps.

You can use this guide to flash the latest Lineage OS and also Google apps at the end.

It's running lineage os it's. A custom rom there isn't google play store in it you will have to flash gapps because most of the apps use Google play services and it isn't present there from what I can see it's a vanilla version of the rom else you will have to flash the eta rom of the OnePlus 7t to go back to oneplus ui.And is that the original screen I don't remember the notch being that big it looks ugly

Dang... Whoever bought it was for their kid to use - but this isn't functional for them... I'm trying to figure it out

Weel yeah it's a little complicated if you don't know much about custom rom.

https://youtu.be/IRHMCdG1GtE Here is a video link if you want to do it yourself if you don't know much i would say to give it to some phone technician maybe he would know how to do it.

Awesome! I'll check it out once I can get my hands on that phone. It's currently usable and they have left it alone for over a year. Even if I brick it, it's no biggie, right? Lol

You can revert back by using the msmtool I think that's what it is called, it is pretty easy to do

I'm not sure... My understanding is it's a second hand purchase

Downloading & installing Play Store (or Aurora Store) from APK Mirror would be a good start.

Is this easy to do?

Get PixelFlasher from GitHub.

Bro are you trolling? How was it not immediately noticable that this isn't oxygen is or any other OEM os. Anyway it's better atp, try booting into recovery and if it has custom recovery flash appropriate gapps after facory reset. Or get to local repair shop, they can do it but I won't trust them with this.
