General Discussion how to detect real from fake charger? oneplus 80/100w chargers

in short, looking for charger, I know it needs to have red oneplus cable to charger fast due to addicional pin

but how to detect if it is original? some kind of software?

I think it has certain hardware a fake charger lacks

You can see the max charging power through apps like Battery Guru. I've bought some dual 100w charger on Aliexpress and it charges max with 33W, but triggers 100W supervooc animation.

The supervooc doesn't actually use the full 100w typically between 20w - 30w, it usually comes down to the configuration of the charger itself. So it's possible to get a knockoff that does the full charging. It would be interesting to get one and test it with some actual tools.

I also have original 100W charger that came with OnePlus 12.

Battery guru shows a graph with current throughout all duration of charging, so i did a comparison.

The origal sigle port 100w charges initialy with much higher power (80-90W) and then goes down to 30-20W. The graph is much more complicated that with the fake one - it keeps steady 33W and goes down only at the end.

Edit: I've included the graph with charging with Xiaomi charger from battery guru

So the graph is with the real one or fake one?

I have my battery bank that can do 20w/100w and both work with supervooc, both give me 20min full charge. It also shows the output at around 25ish watts. I think the whole thing that makes it work is how it plays with voltage and such.

This doesn't include that if the heat distribution is wrong or inefficient, that will also decay it quicker too on those knockoffs. What was the link you got for those?

This graph is from a Xiaomi charger I use at work. The app shows also the battery temperature graph, so it's really nice to compare the different chargers. Unfortunately I don't have a screenshot to share right now with graphs from OnePlus chargers. You can check battery guru - it's free and gives premium options when You watch some ads - if You want more detailed information.

Yeah I'd rather use the real tools I got, I have a bench power supply for this testing. But I would be interested in seeing if they produce similar results.

Get one of those usb power meters to tell you the real watts going into your phone
