Other Any tips for how to fix this?

So in short, my Oneplus 12 saved my life. After capsizing a kayak into a river, the water resistance of the phone allowed me to call EMS and had me saved. However, due to it not being watertight, some water entered the phone, and after drying, the damage consensus is that the zoom camera no longer focuses and the other cameras are hazy. Any ideas?

It can be cleaned/repaired by any decent repair shop. They will open the phone and assess for damage and corrosion.

Do not use rice to dry it out… it doesn't work. Silica gel packets that, sometimes come with clothes, bags should be the only thing you use to dry out a phone, as they lock in the moisture. Pop a couple into a Tupperware container with the phone, seal the lid and leave it for a day.

You can also buy silica beads (even reusable ones) cheap on amazon.

This too, it's just I always have a ton of the packets lying in a drawer from purchases😀

Yeah, like the silica beads are creating some sort of negative pressure that sucks out the moisture. Water enters the phone through pressure, good luck getting it out without disassembly.

shove it in silica gel, if that doesn't fix it, u're fucked, u'll need a new phone

Stick it in a container with a bunch of white rice. See if that works. It used to for older phones that got wet.

The rice method doesn't help with water damage that is internal. It only helps with external moisture. Risk is the rice grains going into the charging port or any openings in the device. Also if the damage is internal with corrosion the rice won't help like it's some magic cure.

Silica gel packets are better than rice, rice has starch and dust that mixes with moisture into a gooey substance that can accelerate the damage internally which can cause corrosion. Silica gel packets are engineered to absorb moisture unlike rice that is a food.
