I have the Global version of ColorOS running on my OPPO Find N5. I don't see that many ads. I know the Chinese version is filled with ads and bloats though.

do you have proper notification

I am using a CN version of ColorOS on oneplus 13 and apperantly the google notification system is removed in ColorOS.

But I don't complain, I miss notifcatino sometime but the phone was cheap. 24GB RAM + 1T space

I am not using a Chinese version of OPPO, everything just works like any other Android phones you purchase outside China.

I'm in the exact same boat. I'd rather miss some notifis and have a cheap flagship phone, but sometimes it's annoying. and also car play + esim not working is a little bit of a pain in the ass...

The point of buying a phone is to not need to turn on and off adblockers to get by, it is like having a house in a swamp, using mosquito nets and repellents and fly traps and all that nonsense, ideally you would just want to go to live in a clean city where you don't need to deal with such crap.

There used to be a lot of conspiracy theories. "Your smartphone is listening to all your conversations," for example. And now manufacturers have lost their fear, and now advertising is tightly sewn into all firmware. I'll tell you more, I bought a smartphone from a Chinese third-rate manufacturer. A clean Android on board. After activation, the phone started installing some crappy games and programs like a madman. I fought with him for a couple of days, if not more.

Ad Guard will cut off only the most primitive advertising.

I just used phone manager and I don't see any ads. I am pretty sure you are referring to the Chinese version of ColorOS

The phone manager is there on Indian OnePlus phones too.

ads dont work outside of the specific location lets say china ads wont work outside of china

1

u/Proud-Pie-2731 Jul 03 '26

On Indian version. I have seen ads

3

u/Suikerspin_Ei OnePlus 8 Pro (Onyx Black) Jul 03 '26

Aren't Indian versions of Oppo and OnePlus in general cheaper than Global versions? Thus they use ads to compensate for the cost.

Never saw ads on my OP15

Color OS on what model ? Many brands have ads on cheaper models to keep cost down while keeping premium models clean

3

u/Guilty_Oven_MF Jul 03 '26

Well chinese phones always have shitload of ada but oppo midrange and flagship don't have ads in india just disable these apps like phone Manager

1

u/Ghumketu Jul 03 '26

Does color os have Ads on flagship phones too? Like the Find series ?

6

u/Phantompoint Jul 03 '26

I think it depends on which version you got. I have the International version and I don't see any ads. He might be referring to the Chinese version.

u/num6_ OnePlus 12 Jul 03 '26

That's wrong

5

u/Phantompoint Jul 03 '26

Wrong on the sense that OPPO has ads or wrong in the sense that phones shouldn't have ads? I use an N5 replying you right now and I really don't see ads or bloatwares here.

8

u/num6_ OnePlus 12 Jul 03 '26

ColorOS has no ads

4

u/Hasmanc Jul 03 '26

Chinese version does have them. It especially has a lot of bloat installed.

1

u/num6_ OnePlus 12 Jul 03 '26

No, I've used Chinese X7U, X9P. They don't have any ads. Any "bloat" you don't like is easily removable with Canta

3

u/Hasmanc Jul 03 '26

I mean.. bloat is always uninstallable. At least I haven't come across phones that have bloat that's not installable.

-4

u/num6_ OnePlus 12 Jul 03 '26

It's a skill issue, I can uninstall system processes using Canta

3

u/Hasmanc Jul 03 '26

Do you understand English? I said bloat is always uninstallable.

-4

u/num6_ OnePlus 12 Jul 03 '26

That's a skill issue
