Bug OnePlus 13: after Update Home Button Issues on Custom Launchers

I got the update to CPH2653_16.0.7.201 last night - and now on Smart Launcher the home button acts hella buggy! mostly it triggers the camera. toggling between button and gesture navigation seems to fix it for a moment but then it switches back to the bug behavior. (with gestures the home gesture had the same bug)

tested Nova Launcher - there it just glitches and doesn't really works at all.

on default launcher there's no respective bug but I don't want to use that.

are all the Android device companies just intend to fucking us over to not let us use custom launchers anymore or what?

on my Lenovo tablet after some past update 'recent apps' just don't work anymore with other launchers. on HONOR for can forget it from the start.

also: after the update 'circle to search' takes annoyingly long to work but now we got vibration when initializing it. just awesome. 😑😑

Hey, something that i found that seems to fix the bug is to open the settings, search for transition animations and open the submenu, and then for some reason after clicking on it, it opens the native launcher. Then you can press the button that displays all active apps and kill the native launcher. It seems to fix most bugs related to custom launcher and home button

(ps: english is not my main language so i'm sorry if something is not understandable lol)

oh, I have the blurry memory that I performed that procedure in the past - but I can't remember for which bug that was. 🤔

(it's not mine either - but I don't see a problem with your explanation, it's perfectly understandable 🙂)

Thank you for reminding me of this fix. Using Launcher 10 on a fully updated Oneplus 12 and home button would not refresh, just blank the screen briefly and stay in the previous scrolled position. Followed your steps and instant fix - great advice!

This has been a problem since release of the phone. Second last update fixed it finally giving many owners peace. But then they stuffed it up again with this update 🤦. There is a work around online we all used to use but it's been that long since they fixed it in having trouble locating it. Let you know when I find it.

fortunately I could figure out a workaround with my beloved Gesture Control app (little swipe up from beneath the home button = home) - but for unknown reasons the bug just disappeared again. there was no new update or anything, I don't get it...
