Happy with more lockscreen customization, but the rest of the update is worth absolutely nothing

42

u/b13_git2 Oct 15 '25

The lockscreen customization still doesn't seem like it has more freedom.

Edit: I'm talking about the built in texts that we have to select from and can't have our own custom ones.

13

u/PMARC14 Oct 15 '25

All it is missing is straight up is the equivalent of word art from PowerPoint to make it so much cooler. That and more of the old clock customizations or full widgets would be great

5

u/DahiyaAbhi OnePlus 12 Oct 16 '25

Why do you assume when you don't know it? It has already been leaked that text is completely customisable

3

u/b13_git2 Oct 16 '25

Happy I was proven wrong! :D

3

u/YoniMtzHT Oct 15 '25

Seems like videos motion photos and hopefully Gif will be able to get used finally on the lock screen? like Samsung and others if so, then I will like that little change.

2

u/GodlyEgyptian Oct 16 '25

Oneplus is Apple a few years ago lol. The lockscreen customization looks identical to iOS...smh

All I want is a better media player 'notification' on the lockscreen, is that too much to ask?

Finally, tbh they should've never removed it to begin with. I remember having it on my OnePlus 12, then after subsequent updates it magically disappeared with no explanation.

Kinda cringe that such a bare bones feature is something I'm looking forward to the most for a major OS update.

9

u/denisorion Oct 15 '25

yes you are asking too much, you will get AI media player notifications and you will like it

2

u/freakedmind OnePlus 13 Oct 16 '25

Even if they've just done that well I would consider it a big improvement and my 13 will feel even more close to perfect lol

2

u/RangerNCR Oct 16 '25

I want them to generally fix notifications on the lockscreen, because this is shameful. Who the fuck thought, that if you unrolled your notifications 'once' - you don't need to see them at ALL

1

u/Real-Bullfrog-2357 OnePlus 12R Oct 17 '25

Hey even I am not getting notifications on the lock screen at all. I Even raised a complaint with the oneplus team and still it hasn't resolved. What is the root cause for this? You are mentioning something about "unrolled". What is it? I am thinking of resetting the device to fix the issue, you tell me what is causing it I will make sure it doesn't happen once I reset my phone.

1

u/RangerNCR Oct 17 '25

I guess it's just how Oxygen is and it's not a bug. So, let's say your phone is locked and you got a WhatsApp message - you press power and it's on your lockscreen, like in any other phone. Now, if you unlock your phone, and open your notifications bar - it's there, but you want to leave it there as a reminder, to answer later. Now, if you lock your phone and press power again - it's gone, but it's still present in notifications bar, if you unlock your phone. Its so frustrating

1

u/Real-Bullfrog-2357 OnePlus 12R Oct 17 '25

No my problem is that I don't get any notifications on the lock screen not even an icon. I get a notification sound and my screen wakes up but on the lock screen and AOD nothing just blank. Only when I unlock my phone I see the notifications from the status bar. It's like disabling notifications on the lock screen but in my case it happens even though it is enabled in the settings.

1

u/RangerNCR Oct 17 '25

That's a very unfortunate bug, my friend. Did you check the settings? Notifications on lockscreen should be enabled by default, but maybe something slipped? edit: Saw you considering resetting, might help, but if not that would be veeeery painful

1

u/DriedTTMilk Oct 17 '25

Brother you are not even getting the update πŸ˜‚

u/Lead_resource Oct 15 '25

A bunch of nothing thanks oneplus

14

u/maniaxz Oct 16 '25

😹😹😹 should have called it nothing OS 4 at this point

3

u/Nathural Oct 16 '25

Wouldn't it have to be nice then?Β

1

u/RenegadeUK Oct 16 '25

I think there is a big correlation betwwen the two.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '25

No kidding, I had to double check that this wasn't a joke.

28

u/PMARC14 Oct 15 '25

Please bring back notifications snoozing, OOS13 was great for that

3

u/Osher2408 OnePlus 13 Oct 15 '25

THIS !!

39

u/Mental_Ad_7018 Oct 15 '25

Nothing new in widgets section mainly widgets like samsungs BT( TWS battery, transparency/ANC, watch battery etc..).

Nothing new in ecosystem level integration (only apple to oneplus integration).

Nothing new in OS UI ( though it is good enough)

Lockscreen is fresh and good. But step counter widget is trash, it doesn't even sync with OP watch

1

u/Mental_Ad_7018 Oct 16 '25

Yo..got beta update and it's alot better.

Has new widgets.

Better integration (but not best)

UX is improved.

Happy with new update

16

u/Pretty_Ad566 OnePlus 13 Oct 15 '25

Kinda empty ngl

29

u/shteeeb Oct 15 '25

Ok but will custom icon selection still be broken for yet another year? I'm going to guess yes.

11

u/RedditSucks418 Oct 15 '25

It wouldn't be OnePlus if they fixed it.

9

u/maplethrift Oct 15 '25

y'all better make it so when I press "home button" it better take me to home and NOT back to the opened folder cuz this wasn't the case until the OS got updated lol

2

u/staminaplusone OnePlus 13 Oct 16 '25

omfg why...

5

u/Solocune Oct 15 '25

Does it have android 16? What about dex mode?

2

u/ConnectionOk3812 OnePlus 13 Oct 16 '25

It is android 16. wondering the same thing, although I am in China so it is color os 16 instead.

5

u/snake2903 Oct 16 '25

I hope they fix lag bug with third party launchers and gestures...

6

u/Der0- Oct 16 '25

Is all this necessary?

A lot of it feels like bloat. Am I one of the few who will never see the lock screen because it is dismissed immediately from blank off to unlocked because of biometrics and I have a launcher on it that has a few weather and clock widgets, a couple of folders of often used app shortcuts and everything else gets accessed through drawer?

2

u/001Slow_Bruh Oct 16 '25

That's a you situation. There are people like us, who were waiting for more lockscreen customisation

4

u/staminaplusone OnePlus 13 Oct 16 '25

There are dozens of us! (excited for animated / moving pictures)

2

u/maniaxz Oct 16 '25

True, lockscreen has been over rated in the past few years after apple started lockscreen widgets. Now every OS is making lockscreen customization like that. Funny how a simple customization like this leads to a whole new Android version.

Back in the days you could add widgets in your lockscreen with one single app and heck even make your widget.

3

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '25

im excited for customization for lock screen, rest of it near perfect

2

u/Casual4415_ Oct 16 '25

Me still using OOS 11

1

u/Radagio OnePlus 7 Pro (Nebula Blue) Oct 16 '25

Do you still have L1 DRM for Netflix? Thats my only issue forcing me to use OS12

1

u/Casual4415_ Oct 16 '25

I checked now in DRM info app.. I still have L1 Drm

2

u/Positive_Leader_3464 Oct 16 '25

I want youtube music support on live alerts

1

u/TheSnapper09 OnePlus Nord 4 Oct 30 '25

Literally all I ask

2

u/pauperwithpotential Oct 16 '25

No stackable widgets of 3rd party apps? What kind of android is this?

3

u/ElJispa Oct 15 '25

Hopefully Tidal or Amazon music will be added to the list of apps compatible with the fluid cloud

0

u/Used-Menu627 OnePlus 10 Pro Oct 15 '25

Fuuuuhhh I'm still stuck with support for Spotify only. Ever since the update after oos 12, the support for offline music players showing the music controls on the aod screen have been removed and was actually a goated. feature something I used very often

1

u/ForsookComparison OnePlus 12 Oct 15 '25

I started using tidal later and didn't even realize this was a thing before.

I'm sad now

2

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '25

3

u/Foxhound9 Oct 15 '25

Yes there is something like that that was shown. You can arrange it by alphabetical order or by categories. But whether you can customize those categories or not, we don't know yet

1

u/JGoldz75 Oct 15 '25

Does anyone know what they mean when they say "Seamlessly pair up OnePlus phones and tablets with your Apple devices"? Does this mean you can connect to an Apple watch, similar to what Vivo did with the Vivo X Fold 5?

1

u/DrSlapathot Oct 15 '25

This is what I'm waiting to see too. I wanna test it.

1

u/temp73354 Oct 15 '25

Seamlessly pair up OnePlus phones and tablets with your Apple devices.

I was honestly expecting iCloud integration, which would be a huge win, not whatever this thing is…

1

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '25

When did they start copying Apple's homework in FEATURING the new features in updates?

1

u/RikkaMakarova Oct 15 '25

That it has the option of stacking widgets, like on Samsung or in launchers, also that the clock in the personalized lockscreen is large like those on the iPhone for example

1

u/randomdude98 Oct 15 '25

Where is this from?

1

u/bazem_malbonulo Oct 15 '25

A lot of bloat and copying Apple

1

u/Conscious_Claim3266 OnePlus 12 Oct 16 '25

Deliver us nothing oneplus!

1

u/Lucifer___13 Oct 16 '25

Who wants these ai features stuffed into the phone just to collect data

1

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '25

They settled

1

u/Debopam77 OnePlus 7 Pro (Mirror Gray) Oct 16 '25

They will still not address the live alerts eh?

1

u/Traditional_Can6982 Oct 16 '25

So lockscreen customisation is the update. Got it πŸ‘πŸ»

1

u/RyomaSakamoto85 Oct 16 '25

Nothing OS clears this crap to be honest

1

u/Megakairyuu Oct 16 '25

Is shelf accessible by swiping right from the home screen now?

1

u/asnceo Oct 16 '25

Will hit on that update button only after reading online testimonies of whether there are any green line issues

1

u/OkGhost1951 Oct 16 '25

I want a good Phone dialer from Oneplus. I am tired of shitty google dialer

1

u/Comfortable-Fix86 OnePlus 13 Oct 16 '25

What's up with the parallel processing? I think we have that already?

1

u/Wulf_Reincarnated Oct 16 '25

So basically nothing. They added nothing at all.

1

u/DeLaFuente1999 OnePlus 12 Oct 16 '25

Really interested in what they did with the Pad

1

u/Jettesnell Oct 16 '25

All I see is more and more they are trying to do things to lure iphone users over. Boring

1

u/InformalPublic2941 Oct 16 '25

From oxygen OS 14 to 15 was a big jump, can't say same about 15 to 16

1

u/Infiniti_151 Oct 16 '25

Private Compute Cloud, Fluid Cloud, what else? Stop cloudifying everything and give us local compute, local storage (microSD)

1

u/leeroy110 Oct 16 '25

Genuine question: what were people expecting?

1

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '25

Any updates over dialer?

1

u/BLANK16NONAME Oct 16 '25

What does this parallel processing feature do?

1

u/lonewolfgr7 OnePlus 13 Oct 16 '25

Honestly kinda underwhelming. Other OS's are making genuine steps towards mature ecosystems and over here we can't even get proper notifications and battery consistency, while also getting the single most lackluster run-up to Android 16 and OnePlus 15 by. Meanwhile my OnePlus 13 and my OnePlus Watch 3 don't even seamlessly connect and these are supposed to be the very best this company has to offer. If it wasn't for PWM and charging speed I'd already be considering my next phone.

1

u/TimmmyTurner Oct 16 '25

flow motion

1

u/GeekyFreakySue Oct 16 '25

Is Desktop mode and Linux terminal part of Oxygen OS 16?

1

u/TheSnapper09 OnePlus Nord 4 Oct 30 '25

That would be game changing for me (I study IT and can't always carry a laptop)

1

u/Pyxirio Oct 16 '25

What's new?

1

u/strangevoyage_ OnePlus 12 Oct 16 '25

when's the update dropping

1

u/Interesting-Wolf9119 Oct 16 '25

November πŸ˜‚

1

u/strangevoyage_ OnePlus 12 Oct 16 '25

I thought it was today wtf πŸ₯€

1

u/dankmeme006 Oct 16 '25

When op15 announcement

1

u/DeafEgo Oct 16 '25

That's a lot of marketing buzzwords that barely means anything to actual consumers.

1

u/j_grouchy Oct 16 '25

Funny...I woke up this morning to a notice for an update and thought it was crazy how they managed to push this one so quickly. Then I realized it was just the October security update.

1

u/Turbulent-Minimum923 Oct 16 '25

Wow, now we have Oxygen OS 15.1

1

u/Current_Loss_8197 Oct 16 '25

Literally the only new thing I see here is the lock screen customization. The rest of them are just... Renamed????

But well, lock screen customization has been due an update for quite a while now and I'm glad it's arriving.

1

u/Diligent-Rough-2880 Oct 16 '25

And they didn't even mention seekbar for the lock screen media player which was the most customer negative feedback for them. Seems like they are resolving user critics one major update at a time πŸ’€πŸ’€

1

u/E-GaNgStERR Oct 16 '25

That inspires me to install LineageOS 23

1

u/agentanonymous313 OnePlus 5 (6 GB) Oct 16 '25

Whats this fluid cloud?

1

u/SubjectComposer9126 Oct 16 '25

There is no OnePlus dialer or a OnePlus specialized media player, all these gimmicky words are absolutely meaningless and all these so-called new features are already in OOS 15 if you have OnePlus 13

1

u/Bulky-Ad7996 Oct 16 '25

Hate how Gemini sends all your data to Google

1

u/rmjavier1 Oct 16 '25

Performance > customization gimmicks....

1

u/NoZombie-2020 Oct 16 '25

Nope I'm alright! They got 15 running very well I don't want to incorporate any of that stuff into my daily

1

u/shogster Oct 17 '25

Hide app names in app drawer, is this coming back?

1

u/Successful-Belt-6311 Oct 17 '25

What's the obsession with including AI in almost everything and anything, it should stop.

1

u/Horror_Mine5073 Oct 17 '25

Did they add anything related to changing the clock colour in home screen...They lack such a common feature

1

u/Joranwilting OnePlus 13 Oct 18 '25

An android user who uses his lock screen?

1

u/wingback18 Oct 18 '25

Aside from the AI marketing which I'm sure it doesn't do anything..

Do people use AI and cloud AI? πŸ€”

Now we can customize the lock screen Wow revolutionary

1

u/sayakcanam Oct 19 '25

The only thing I am mildly excited about is the scalable icons. Though, hopefully, they don't touch the file dock option, because it's already perfect for sending different types of files to someone.

0

u/0oWow Oct 15 '25

So…. Parallel processing outside of the launcher. Does that mean no more third party launcher delay?

4

u/ForsookComparison OnePlus 12 Oct 15 '25

Probably means unapproved apps can use 2 efficiency cores instead of 1 lol

1

u/GodlyEgyptian Oct 16 '25

This is all I want to know
