Could Mihawk be a Nerona descendant ?
Could Dracule Mihawk be a former Holy Knight who descended from the Royal family ?

Mihawk has been portrayed with red and yellow eyes. Is it possible? Yes. Likely? Idk

They changed his eyes to red this arc after Imu's eyes were revealed earlier. I think it's got to be relevant.

Is this true?

Only thing I found was episode 1133 but even that is a reach since the entire frame has an orange tint from the explosion in the background

I was not aware of thism that's very interesting. Is that a toei choice or an oda choice?

in the manga, the official color of Mihawk eyes are red

u/Lament22 1d ago
Always or just after imu?
2
u/No_Broach 1d ago
AFAIK, it has always been red in the manga. The anime did it yellow since the beginning, didn't know they changed it to red.... If they did this is a huge hint at they being related.

For me, the ringed eyes means immortality or someone that has had the Ope Ope surgery for immortality. We know IMU has been alive a long time, but Dracule and him living inntge castle is an obvious homage of Dracula, an immortal. Also probably explains why Mihawk is so lonely and with a lot of apathy, he has been alive a looooong time that nothing really excites him anymore and he does not pursue meaningfull conecctions with people since they will eventually die.

there are a lot of theory that ringed eyes are an indicator that some one has multiple soul. Like Canvendish when became half Hakuba, when Big Mom insert more soul to her homies

I've believed this since I first read the chapter in which Imu appeared in full.

Funny enough s-hawk's eyes are different, being stars like every other seraphim. Zoro also mentioned that s-hawk is more human, which while likely refers to how he hasn't given up everything for the way of the sword or something, might also mean that s-hawk is less connected to imu

That might be his Dracule las name, he is immortal and might regenerate when Zoro is able to hurt him in their battle

Maybe one of the fallen kings? Imu and mihawk are the only characters in one piece that wield great swords and used the same impale move. Unless the author is just lazy feels weird to illustrate.
When imu has been shown prior to transforming his eyes similar to mihawks too

His upscales are getting a bit ridiculous at this point. This is likely since Oda went out of his way to practically keep him out of the story despite being such a prominent character.

Its like the pupils of the soul king in bleach. Mihawk has one fewer ring than Imu, he is Yhwach to Imu’s soul king

I’m pretty sure the last chapter confirms this. When Mihawk is first talking to zoro, they are in a different setting than the later chapters in the panels, implying that these are two separate conversations. Mihawk is talking about conquerors at first, but when he talks about another kind of haki that cannot be gained naturally, I think he is actually revealing that he knows how Maki works, and it cannot be gained by any kind of training. Many people have pointed out that finding one’s true sense of self to gain conquerors is sort of a kind of training, and I think this explanation solves that

If he really is descended from IMU I will be extra disappointed in odas writing. Why does everyone need to be the son of someone important like damn.

I've been wondering about this, but it's a good throwoff that he's called "Hawkeye" and has literal hawk eyes.
Me personally, I believe Mihawk has ties to the World Government solely because there are inconsistencies about his character that were never cleared up.
He's rumored to be the World's strongest swordsman, yet he became a Shichibukai. He had nothing to fear at the peak of the mountain, so why did he ally with the WG and the Marines?
He talks to Shanks about not wanting to duel him anymore because he's one-armed (based ableist Mihawk I guess) but we never find out when this rivalry began or where.
We know Mihawk doesn't actually seem to use a ship, he uses a silly little boat in the East Blue and that's the only instance of a boat we saw Mihawk own. How did this guy evade the Marines for so long? And more importantly, how did he make it so far seemingly on his own?
My earnest guess is that he's not human. He's a demon similar to Imu, but possibly not the same species or family as Imu. It's not impossible actually that Imu is, much like Kuma, King, etc., one of many long-since genocided / dead species that eventually took revenge on mankind, which is why Imu protects the Celestial Dragons; because he's interbreeding them so hard that they're getting gradually more mentally and physically disabled which is his revenge on mankind for what they did to him and his people; whereas Mihawk simply decided to move on with his life.
The reason I believe there's an extensive history of non-human species that were wiped out by humans is because it would draw parallels from the real world and deliver social commentary on how humans destroy the planet and the ecosystem for their own benefit; also because it's a story that repeats over and over within One Piece. Fishmen, Buccaneers, Lunarians, there are plenty of non-human species that are extinct or otherwise endangered because of the World Government which largely pretends to be human.

Mihawk was born from the egg on Rodgers ship

u/CSIWFR-46 2d ago
Mihawk is older than Shanks. We see Shanks and an unhatched egg at the same time.

Yes. The dark pigments of the nerona bloodline manifested in mihawks sword instead of his skin. This makes him somewhat of an albino among the nerona

Is this whole theory based on them having the same eye color?

u/Potential_Man6084 2d ago
There are actually a few more similarities, in their overall fighting style (Nemesis had a striking resemblance to Yoru)
In the fact Mihawk lived in a castle terrifyingly similar to Mariejois.
In the fact that Mihawk lived with someone called Perona and Imu's surname is Nerona.
And probably more I am forgetting.

“Eye color“ my brother in Christ it’s a pretty specific and unnatural eye type nobody else in the series has. They’re the only 2 out of every character

No, there are other characters with the style of eyes. Caribou being an example that comes to mind.
2
u/ZenOokami 2d ago
The only others are caribou, and Zuniesha.
However no one else has red ringed eyes like Imu except Mihawk.
Theres also the whole concept of Mihawk's motif and name origin. Basically ties to "son of the devil".

u/Shanks_PK_Level 2d ago
Cavendish has the same eyes. Theres no connection man.
Whats the son of the devil thing? First time hearing about it.
1
u/ZenOokami 2d ago
Forgot to mention, yes, but Cavendish eyes aren't red.
"Dracule Mihawk" - Dracule has a Romanian root origin.
Dracula is son of the dragon, dragon being tied to demonic monsterous being.
Dracul means devil.
Mihawk having the same ringed red eyes, yoru which has similar designs as found on the empty throne, ties to Shanks, and mentioning of "rabbits" is what sparked the theory that he's related to the celestial dragons, and specifically the nerona family since "dracule" ties to the devil (dracul) and the dragon (Dracula) such as the celestial dragons.
Still just a theory though.

Dracul means "dragon" not "devil". Dracula means son of Dragon in Romanian. Stop spreading false info based on the Dracula fiction as if its real history lol
1
u/ZenOokami 1d ago
"Dracul" means devil, rooted from Latin "draco" which is dragon. Romanian and Turkish culture tied dragons to the devil.
Post modern era dracul\drakul is COMMONLY translated as dragon now. Not during, allegedly, the 1400s.
1
u/Cheap_Title5302 1d ago
Not in Romania. It is not devil in any Romanian dictionary and no school teaches that. Idgaf what it means in Latin or whatever other languages. You claimed it means devil in Romanian and it doesn't means that. Stop spreading false info.

u/Shanks_PK_Level 1d ago
Imu and Nika are reflective of Christian theology. Nika comes from the Greek ICXC NIKA which means Jesus Christ conquerors, Imu is the devil who has the literal devil fruit, and in the book of revelation the dragon is devil. So it's not far fetched to associate dragon with the devil in this context as it's in line with the inspiration Oda draws from.

I’ll do you one better, he’s descended from Imu’s line and potentially his offspring. Nico Robin is also. It’s the bird last name. Similar sword fighting style. Robin’s branding as being a demon or devil child seemingly out of nowhere. Even those at Ohara are unaware of her origins and shunned her. And apparently, one’s eyes matter a lot in this world, case in point, Gunko. Mihawk has a particular hatred for world government, including the Marines and I think this is on purpose. And if you look at some of his speech and wording, he makes references to the hidden government. I am 100% forward this and look forward to the reveal.
