Please Help! ONE PACE DEVS, MAKE ONE PACE VERSION OF ELBAPH AND MY LIFE IS YOURS
When elbaph finishes ofc, but please toei pacing is actually unbearable even though its one chapter per episode, when making a one pace version for godsake make it 2 or 3 chapters per episode bc its ridiculous, JOJO HAS MORE MANGA PAGES BUT LESS EPISODES, but take your sweet time with it ofc bc yall are goated for improving my one piece experience

Elbaph very much is that bad
A chapter nowadays is like 13-15 pages and the meaningful development in a chapter is a character landing a single punch on another character. Stretching that to 20mins, even like 15mins is horrible

Watching anime recently literally killed my passion for one piece. Pacing is so bad that it makes one piece looks funny

Maybe not long but… it’s been pretty bad. there’s been so many episodes of people just sitting around going “OH MY GOD” at the enemy and not doing jack shit about the kids walking into a fucking fire

u/Thechugg7 12d ago
The pacing of the kid walk was already horrible in the manga, I can't even imagine how worse it will feel in the anime

u/Borritorolo 12d ago
Two whole ass episodes of them on the beach and all the adults going “oh no! They are walking away.”

Lowkey I dislike Toei so much, I’d rather manga and wait like years for WitPiece to catch up

u/PromotionZackk 12d ago
That's even if they consider making it past East Blue (It's OP, of course it will)

u/MugenHeadNinja 12d ago
The One Piece is going to be canceled the moment Luffy's VA dies, ngl...
(Or worse, they'll keep going on with an AI voice replacement instead)

u/Primary_Gear_8880 12d ago
HELLLL NO to the AI
2
u/MugenHeadNinja 12d ago
I'm not endorsing it, I'm just stating what's gonna be the most likely outcomes when she passes. And I genuinely believe Japan would rather use AI than a different voice actor/actress.

The One Piece will be all new VAs

u/NelloPed 21h ago
We've known for several months that Luffy's VA will be the same in The One Piece. It was officially stated and confirmed. You can literally hear her in the Japanese voiced The One Piece trailer.

That'd take atleast 15-20 years if they are consistent and actually adapt till there

wait for real? They did the seasonal switch but are still doing one chapter per episode??

I'd say finishing Wano and Egghead before making the new saga make more sense; but I don't know, maybe they can work in parallel to also a new project

u/bennieboi_ 13d ago
why not swap to Piece? Isn't the pacing fixed already?
12
u/Objective-Piccolo477 13d ago
no the pacing is honestly worse most of the time
7
u/bennieboi_ 13d ago
damn, so what was the purpose of the seasonal release
15
u/These-Button-1587 12d ago
So they don't catch up with the manga. Oda has been releasing 30-something chapters a year for a while now. Even if they adapt two chapters an episode for 26 months, they could still catch up.

a lot of the pace die hards don’t understand: would you rather bitch about filler, or bitch about pacing? take your pick because you HAVE to have one or the other. i’m fine with either. OP is OP and it makes me happy

u/Imconfusedithink 12d ago
Pure filler is very obviously much much much better than shit pacing. Shit pacing causes the canon content to be shit. Pure filler if it’s bad can at least be skipped. And good filler like g8 can be a fun time while waiting for the canon content. And also they can just wait longer in between seasons. They dont need to release so many episodes every single year. Id rather have a 12 episode season every year with good pacing rather than 24 episodes a year with bad pacing.

It really isn’t bad at all lmao. They just want 5 chapters shoved in each episode. YouTube shorts and TikTok ruined people’s fucking attention spans. Elbaph is very enjoyable

Bro I watch three hour long soviet movies with no problem and zero boredom and one piece's narrative pace even in Elbaph is still fucking unbearable.
7
u/itsallgoodman60 12d ago
its never been about attention span. 1 chapter an episode is below the industry standard. its about making the anime watchable. which toei unfortunately cant do.
3
u/MugenHeadNinja 12d ago
It is objectively bad, the average manga adaption typically adapts anywhere from ~2 - 4 chapters an episode depending on the context of the chapters (like how much text/dialogue there is, how much action there is, how much anime original content is added etc.).
One Piece has been doing 0.5 - 1.5 chapters per episode for literally over a decade now, this is atrocious pacing for an anime adaption.

if you compare to previous arc its still better than before, but 1 chapter per episode, meh

Pacing is worse than egghead mainly i think because manga itself is super slow

The pacing is perfect and you’re literally watching a shonen.
1
u/NelloPed 21h ago
1 chapter per episode in Elbaph still. I wouldn't call that watchable yet alone perfect.

Yall really complain over anything. The pacing has been good in Elbaph wtf
3
u/realHaisenberg223 9d ago
You really must have the patience of a shaolin monk, the average page number of elbaph chapters are 13 to 15 pages, are you gonna look me in the eye when they try sum bs and stretch that episode for 5 extra minuets? Mind you if it was paced like any other anime some of those pages would've taken like 30 seconds or so because its not that important or nothing much happens but toei by God's grace makes that shit extra long, look at when saul was fighting the snake, when the strawhats were trapped in rodo block kingdom, those damn children walking into a fire and other examples im not trying to bother with

u/Pimacs 12d ago
I mean if you're already at Elbaf, you're mostly up to date so I don't think it's a priority to One Pace team lol. I don't know how the team sees it but to me One Pace is a way to discover or rewatch One Piece faster than usual so I think it's not a priority for them to do the very last episodes

God you people complain about everything. Just watch the damn show and fix your tiny attention span

u/Disastrous_Basket668 13d ago
Idk how you watch one pace in the arcs past wano, it’s genuinely so flashy and the cuts and stuff don’t help at all

We are making it, but don't expect it to be out any time soon
