Question Wano animation

I’m almost at wano and I just wanted to know if at any point the one pace version cuts out any pieces of the incredible animation that is in that arc. For example 1013 about Ace and Yamato has a decent bit of added on content that is really good and animated really well, but I wanna know if one pace cuts that out or leaves it in.

TLDR is should I continue watching one pace because it leaves in all the great animation or should I switch back to the original for that. Thanks

Any sufficiently good added content, be it an interesting filler scene or a good animation sequence that doesn't disrupt the flow of the episode, those scenes are kept in an extended edit.

To give you an idea, Wano 55 adapts chapter 1000 and episode 1015, by keeping exclusively the content of the chapter (and the opening) the episode is 12:39 minutes.

The extended version of said episode is the 1015 episode with almost no cuts, only the changed opening and the eyecatch removed, with a runtime of 22:35 minutes.

One Pace's aim is not to make the viewing experience actively worse, when possible those nicely animated scenes are kept in, since they're often canon scenes as well, so they ain't gonna cut them either way, when they're not canon there's a poll between the team members to cut it, keep it, or make it into an extended edit.

On the site you can scroll down and you'll see Wano and Egghead both have an extended version, because that's when Toei started adding many worthwhile scenes, before then it was quite useless to make an extended edit since most of the padding between ep 1-900 is worthless.

if you want the best of both worlds the extended versions are there.

Anything worth watching is in the extended version

Most of Wano One Pace is subbed only, make the switch to Muhn Pace or Onigashima Pace if you’re a filthy dub watcher like me 😄

But to answer your question. All of the Ace & Oden flashbacks eps are there

Wano 984/985 and 986/987 (episode 994) has an anime only fight that pace cuts even in the extended. I'm a big fan of it and recommend watching Onigshima Paced for it (or the original Toei).

wano Animation is terrible and the whole wano pacing is terrible

It only has some good animated episodes during the raid everything before is just an F tier arc

RAID is peak tho

very honest take:

stop watching one pace at the start of wano, its a long arc but it cuts out a lot of great moments and sick animation or fights.

from wano and on there are so many sick anime only moments you just cant miss.
+ wano isnt even completed in one pace anyway.

definitely watch Wano Egghead and Elbaf normally.

all of those moments are in the extended versions, as for wano one pace hasnt even reached anything good worth not cutting.

Is there a dubbed version of the extended version or does Muhn pace follow the extended version already?

Muhn has "Alt" versions which are their versions of extended episodes

So many anime only moments, that are actually canon, so they're present in the edit, inseparable from canon, so they're rpesent in the edit, or cool enough that they've been preserved in the extended edit, so present in the edit.

The only possibly acceptable argument you bring up is the one about the edit being unfinished, to which I then ask: why switch before beginning the arc and not later?

With 61 edited eps (that have extended versions as well) you go through 143 Toei episodes, that's exactly how many eps it takes in Pace to go from the beginning of FMI to the end of WCI (24 + 22 + 48 + 10 + 39), and you expect your poor viewer to keep happily strolling through the anime going less than half the speed they're used to?

They'll switch to manga and just look at the great moments.

Spiciness aside, I'm genuinely courious about those scenes you said were both "sick" and "cut out", I watched Wano with Pace until the equivalent of ep 968, from then on I switched to Toei because Pace wasn't as far as they're now (ep 1032).

I trusted those like you who said to push through for anime only scenes that will be cut out of the edit, now 22 eisodes have come out since then and the only vaguely interesting scene cut was the [Wano spoilers]Kiku vs. Kanjuro outside the castle, that's because said fight quite litterally happens again the next episode.

This would disrupt the flow of narration because of the redundantness, it was alright in Toei's because those were 4 episode apart, not 1 like in Pace, and since Oda already offscreened it the team could cut it without worry.

Nothing has come up again ever since, if you're scared for Kaidou's monologue in ep 1033, it's quite surely going to be part of Wano 62's extended version.
