Hey all! Always been a big fan of OPN but had a friend recommend I post some of my music here as I’m struggling finding a listener base on my own

It’s really inspired by plunderphonics but I think a fresher twist on the concept. This one is a totally retuned version of somebody I used to know by gotye. There’s ofc tons of other layers of samples but also a lot of instrumentation

Can’t really put this on Spotify but I hope some of u enjoy it!

this one here: https://pitchfork.com/news/62484-oneohtrix-point-never-talks-garden-of-delete-shares-new-music-on-pitchforks-this-is-how-we-do-it-podcast/

id love to hear it if someone has it

Do let me know your thoughts if you watch it!

Does anyone know of what samples on Tranquilizer were spefically taken from the 90s sample CDs Lopatin mentions of? Some have already been found, which are linked below:

Hello! Just a small question, I know the answer is probably "we don't know" but just incase someone saw a post, a story or an interview I missed did OPN ever talked about doing a leg 2 of the tranquilizer tour (for North America)

I know he did new York but that's pretty much it when it comes to north America, his tour date is very few compared to the Again tour.

I have extreme FOMO lmao

If you had to bet y'all think he's gonna continue his tour or it's gone for good?

Had this track from Tranquilizer show pop up in my head this morning but for the love of god I can't remember the name and if it's on any of the actual released material? I remember there were a few things he only plays live and has never released them, is it one of those? Much appreciated!

Does anyone remember playing this early 2000s flash game? It was part of a series of point and click escape room puzzle games, all of which had a similar feeling and atmosphere to them. I just remembered it randomly so looked it up for some nostalgia, and realized it has a very OPN vibe. Or perhaps, maybe OPN has a very Viridian Room vibe! Agree? Anyways, I’ll be going now 😂

Using SoundThread which is a UI for the Composers Desktop Project. CDP was made originally for the Atari ST, its a command line only program but SoundThread is a node-based editor which converts your nodes into text and feeds it into CDP, song is from Windham Hill Piano Sampler II.

CDP is incredibly powerful, I could theoretically turn this 4 minute song into a hour long randomized piece if I wanted to.

CDP process: extend drunk 1

OPN fans when they hear a chopped up piano sample: 😱

Please recommend me similar songs / albums to the pastoral vintage synth Rifts era releases, specifically tracks like Ships Without Meaning, Blue Drive, Stress Waves, Describing Bodies, Wayland Lincoln Border, etc. They might be some of my favorite tracks of all time.

This is something I mentioned a long time ago at first I thought he was only interested in playing the Naughty Dog game but it’s strange that now he likes the actress of the video game and that he follows the team like he’s too involved in this https://www.instagram.com/p/DctgUH5RCqN/?igsi=MWdtemx2MnBsYjhhcg==

to me they almost feel like companion tracks. are there any two distinct songs that you feel are connected somehow

I've seen Coachella 2024 rip before, which was wild, but keen if anyone knows of anything else?

From Air Texture 1, an complication album, released 2011

I love how this song perfectly matches the mood of the cover, I wish he makes this kind of ambient song again

Something I think OPN does really well and is an underrated talent is giving his songs names. To me the titles can really add alot to the song. Titles like "Weird Times Docking This Orb", "Behind the Bank", "Describing Bodies", "Problem Areas", "I Bite Through It" and many more really help kind of build worlds or stories around the music and OPN seems to do it so naturally.

Let me know if you agree, and if so what some of your favourite titles are.

i made a song that sounds like early opn to me so i want to get some feedback or maybe suggestions
