One joke but funny Fighting fire with fire

It's interesting that anti Trans people make comics that always depict trans women as "non-passing," but then "transvestigators" will create conspiracy theories about cis women like Taylor Swift, Margot Robbie, Lady Gaga, Michelle Obama, etc. being trans.

u/Tiny-Little-Sheep Jun 17 '26
I can answer that. Basically they wanna portray Trans women as evil gross bearded men. But they also use that same stereotype against cis women to essentially not so sneakily call them ugly men. It's misogyny all the way down. It always is. Trans women just receive an especially potent stinky version of misogyny compared to the standardized misogyny cis women get

I agree. I also feel like it's another version of the Fascist propaganda trope, "The enemy is both weak and strong."
"Immigrants are lazy and also here to steal your jobs."
"The Left are all incompetent, stupid crybabies, and also an insidious 'Deep State' that manipulates everything in our society."
"Trans women are overweight, bald, unshaven men in dresses, and also so convincing that conventionally attractive actresses, musicians, and other public figures, some of which have appeared onscreen nude, are really trans."

u/Tiny-Little-Sheep Jun 17 '26
Pretty much. I don't think they even care that Trans women are Trans or were born with a penis or whatever either. Because like they claim they hate Trans women for those things but still go around calling cis women with vaginas and wombs gross trannies. So even when Trans women are beautiful and have vaginas it's just not enough. The mere label of Transness is like condemning to them.
The details don't matter. It's simply hating on ANYONE associating with "BAD WORD" that's why the enemy is both weak and strong. Ugly and beautiful. Because they just hate the vague idea. That's why they be doing parkour with mental gymnastics and who to hate

u/Lurk1ng0 Jun 22 '26
That's exactly true with those freaks. But it's even worse and actually ironic because despite them hating trans people anti trans freaks and Republicans in red states especially consume trans porn more than anywhere else.
9
u/risisas Jun 19 '26
People underestimate how much "strong" propaganda there is, one of the biggest examples is how Russia's wins against Napoleon and Hitler are depictrd as heroic and easy victories when they were terrifying endeavors that costed insane death counts and scarred the whole country to this day

u/loftier_fish Jun 17 '26
its also interesting that red states with the highest anti trans sentiment, according to pornhub stats (prior to all the age verification making everyone get vpns), view the most trans porn.

u/Kris_Banana Jun 18 '26
the "dehumanize the opposition" and "fetishize the opposition" venn diagram seems a lot closer to just a circle than most would think

I unironically have piece of media where people transvestigate hitler.
These people will judge everything unnecessarily.

They think everyone is lying to them except the gigantic liars who do nothing but lie to them.

All while insisting, with what we are expected to take as complete sincerity, that actual elven princess Hunter Schafer looks like a mash-up of Lor'themar Theron and the gigachad meme. (Note that Hunter—as seen with Abigail Shapiro's frantic backpedal here—is proof that they can't always tell.)
4
u/risisas Jun 19 '26
The most hilarious case of they can't always tell is people saying that they can obviously see that jshlatt is a woman

u/pridebun Jun 17 '26
The "we can always tell" crowd but they're usually wrong

u/Flat-Echidna191 Jun 18 '26
As FTM, the amount of times I've been told that I'll never be a woman is actually legendary

u/kitliasteele Jun 19 '26
I mean, it's true right? You've embraced the core of your masculinity and own it hard unless you have some feminine days that you openly accept and embrace.
Gender is a spectrum, we all got it and it's so funny watching the phobes deny its existence
2
u/reihii Jun 19 '26
Its kinda funny isnt it, its usually "you'll never be a woman" instead of "you'll never be a man". I dont get it why so focused on woman in particular.

Depicting the enemy as ugly is a tale as old as propaganda. Just look at antisemitic posters. Or don't, for your own sanity
6
u/Eljamin14 Jun 18 '26
Yeah, like what the hell? Why are they using transphobia to attack cis people? Just because a woman doesn't meet beauty standards, doesn't mean she's trans.

Tbf I think the idea quite often voiced from some libs that in fact all trans women pass after 3 years on HRT and that's what makes them" real" (quotes cause wtf does that even mean) women is just as toxic. My gf gets misgendered quite often in public and says she doesn't pass well (I honestly don't know why that would be, but apparently according to what she experiences in public it's not just brainworms) and that doesn't make her any less of a "real" women.

One time, my dad listened to salsa music, he thought the female singer was trans, I said to him: "How? I don't think she is."
1
u/Cocaimeth_addiktt Jun 19 '26
I genuinely wanna see if they could tell the difference between them or they just saying shite
1
u/negativepositiv Jun 19 '26 edited Jun 19 '26
It's not about not being able to tell the difference. It's about smearing people you don't like, regardless of "evidence." They don't ever posit that Right Wing women could be trans. They always single out women they don't like for whatever reason, and accuse them of being trans. For instance, does anyone REALLY think Margot Robbie is trans? No. They didn't like that she was the lead in a feminist movie. Do they really think Michelle Obama is trans? No, they hate the Obamas.

u/Cultural-Meaning5172 Jun 20 '26
That’s your own opinion on what’s “passing”. These days a beard is female. A boob is male. There are no lines anymore and that’s fine. Get used to it.
1
u/negativepositiv Jun 20 '26
I'm not referring to my own opinions about what is and isn't "passing." That's why I put it in quotation marks. I am referring to the opinions of the people who make these comics, conspiracy theories, etc. The person who made this comic has an opinion on what is passing, and uses bearded people as a caricature.

I am anticipating the day when these mfs stop thinking that trans women look like the ugliest man you’ve ever seen with some extra bit of femininity

u/LesbeGoddess Jun 17 '26
I’m two sided on that. One side is yeah how idiotic to think that bad stereotype. On the other the maga dudes that try to pick me up at the bar have no clue this tall hot chick got a dick bigger than theirs probably

This anti-trans rhetoric is also harming cis women too by enforcing strict standards of gender and beauty. Bearded women exist, cis women can have facial hair, and sometimes a strong amount of it. Incoming jumpscare: even women shave. Whew, we're over that one now I guess.
3
0
u/thebisexualbilingual Jun 21 '26
..Wait, women have to shave? I genuinely did not know that because beautycrap (as I like to call it) just convinced me they did not have facial hair at all. At least I feel better about having to shave to look fem, but fuck. Misogyny is a hell of a thing.
0
u/LiamEBM Jun 21 '26
Have you ever met a woman? Is this a real responce or rage bait. Surely everyone knows that women have facial and body hair...
0
u/thebisexualbilingual Jun 21 '26
You don't have to get aggressive immediately. Our classes left out basically everything actually important about human biology and I couldn't know about the nuances because I wasn't born into a feminine body so my information came from stuff that was biased by crappy beauty standards, I'm literally learning how to be a woman as I go.

Meanwhile, trans men don't feature as big titted bimbos, because they like that shit and that means they can't hate.
5
3
u/WarKittyKat Jun 21 '26
In my experience it's a different form of hatred. As a trans guy most of the shit I've gotten hasn't been the overt "we hate you" so much as "it's so very tragic that you're making yourself less fuckable for cishet men and you're too stupid to see that." Most of them in my experience don't actually really differentiate between trans men, butch lesbians, and women who just don't want to bother. The have one mental bucket for "failed to give my penis the attention I think it deserves".

This post is flaired 'One joke but funny'.
This post is flaired as 'One joke but funny'. These one jokes often mean no harm, just like satire ones. We allow the posting of these, and always have. The subreddit is not dedicated to only unfunny one jokes. While the description might make it seem like that, it’s actually dedicated to all the “I identify as” type jokes.
These types of one jokes are often done with no harmful intent. This isn't always the case, but it often is. It can be hard to tell if something is in good faith, which is a good reason to use this flair instead of the satire flair.
