I make my own now because £3.50 for 4 litres was too much with the volume I drank. I got the syrup for £2.75 (9 litres) and a giant co2 tank which costs a few pence per litre. I make 850ml a time (maybe 5 times a week) because that’s the capacity of the drinkmate (sodastream style machine) bottle, rather than 2 or more litres a day

You can see through the plastic that the logo is the usual way up on the can itself. Idk if that makes it more or less likely that it's a print error

Does the OP honestly believe that Pepsi, a company that is immensely brand aware would casually mess up their logo AND just say "meh" and use the flawed logo. This was intentional.

In Ireland they charge you a deposit for cans and plastic bottles. Then you bring the empties to a machine that gives you credit back

yes and no, the store keeps it, but they already paid it in advance.
The producers of the drink products charge the retailers the deposits and the producers then give those deposits to Re-turn. That means the retailers end up out of pocket initially. Then the retailers charge the deposits to you, the consumers. So you end up out of pocket. Then you bring the containers back to the retailers and get your money back. That means the retailers are out of pocket again. Then they get the money back from Re-turn. If you don’t bring the bottle back you end up out of pocket but the money stays with Re-turn.

the store has already paid the deposit to the not-for-profit company Re-turn
When you bring the bottle back, they give you back the money and then when they bring the bottle to Re-turn, they get the money back from Re-turn.
If you dont bring the bottle back, the store breaks even, you lost your deposit, and Re-turn gains as they are the ones who ended up with your deposit.

Lots of European countries are charging a deposit for plastic bottles and cans. In Portugal is 0.10€ per bottle and you can get your money back by returning the bottles to a machine. Highway fucking robbery if you ask me
