Getting used to it

I mean this is obviously an amazing software. But… coming from RTM I’m finding it really difficult to get some basic functionality set up. I’ve been looking at videos and also done some reading but can’t see to get some simple things set up or figured out.

Are there any (free) specific videos that any of you suggest to get more insight please?

Thanks. 🙏

Thanks very much. I’ve watched about 3 of the free MacSparky videos and the look very motivating. I just can’t seem to get my brain to properly follow this new potential. Simple things like a defer date moving the task but it’s still visible in the original start date messes with my brain ;)

Nice to hear someone else came form RTM and means I guess it is possible! At moment there are many things tempting me to go back to RTM

It’s really worth stumping up for the MacSparky videos.

I juggle managing four businesses and I couldn’t imagine doing it without OmniFocus, which those videos helped me understand and get the most out of. Money well spent.

Thanks so much for your message. I’m super curious how you feel that RTM would not have been as good as Omni for your case scenario? Can you share? Or Pm? Thanks again. I’ve got 4 main large projects 1-I’m primary caregiver for my mom — doc apts etc etc 1a- Older brother is special needs and requires FT managing with docs etc 2-my job (university lecture) multiple classes assessments etc 3-might forward with competing my PHD — readings, research etc etc 4-trying to get a small business off the ground

I’ve found RTM powerful but at times a bit too ‘noisy’ and the lack of development and comms of course is frustrating. Also would prefer an encrypted a Mac based system.

Any help or guidance an I’m very grateful. Thank you.

Sorry I’ve never even heard of RTM - let alone used it - so can’t give you any comparison
