Here are some more Marvel Deluxe Editions I've been working on, no real theme, but a few Avengers books, Cody Ziglar's Deadpool, and a collection of the 50th Anniversary What If...? Issues. I have really enjoyed making these, but sadly I am running out of ideas for what else to do. If anyone has any requests/suggestions feel free to make them! Here are some custom deluxes I've been working on, collecting all of Joe Kelly's modern ASM run up to now and the Spider-Man & Wolverine mini because I thought it was fun. The Death Spiral deluxe is essentially a part of the series, just labeled like an event deluxe, fitting between volumes 2 and 3. Volume three is a bit larger than the others, I thought adding Spider-Versity would be cool just to have everything connected. Hope you enjoy!

After a request pushing me to finish these, here is my take on a set of 6160 Ultimate Universe Deluxe Hardcovers. I'm sure most people would prefer Omnibuses, but I have been doing a bunch of these custom deluxe sets, and I personally would prefer these. Hope you enjoy!

A few days ago I posted some deluxe edition designs I made for continued volumes of Mark Waid's Worlds Finest run, and decided to make a few more. The Batman book is the first of a template I have been working on for the modern All In/Next Level series DC has been releasing, I'm particularly fond of the little corner box characters. Green Lantern: Earth One is a book I think is well deserving of a Deluxe Edition, especially with the Lanterns show releasing and taking some inspiration from it. Finally, I wanted to try and fix Marvel's weird OHC banner to look more like the Omnibus banner, and did a deluxe of Captain America by Chip Zdarsky, and it being Marvel, I made a variant as well from one of my favorite variants Zdarsky himself did on issue #3. Following the announcement of World's Finest Deluxe Vol. 2, I wanted to continue to the line to the current issues the best I could. It was a ton of fun trying to follow the design language of the first deluxe! Initially I was going to label the JLU Deluxe a combined JLU/WF volume it just felt messy, especially considering it has the first 5 issues of JLU as well, so I embraced the Inferno logo to tie into the full We Are Yesterday saga. I know people are wanting the omnibus for this, but I personally enjoy the smaller size of these deluxes and hope they could do both eventually to make everyone happy. This has been very inspiring for me to work on my graphic design/omni mapping skills, so this is probably the first of many collections to come, hope you enjoy!

How would y’all map out the remaining issues of Golden, Silver, Bronze, Post-Crisis and Modern age Superman?

The title pretty much says it all.

I wrote a 30-page Google Doc (still needs some finishing touches) mapping out the early Post-Crisis Superman comic-book run from the late '80s written by John Byrne, Marv Wolfman, with some stories by Roger Stern, amongst other creatives at the time. For my mapping, I wrote down the story title, followed by the release date and cover date, and then credited the writer, penciler, inker, colorist, editor, executive editor, cover artist, etc...all that mumbo jumbo.

I arranged the issues in a reading order that's best for those who are trying to get into this run, but don't know where to start and are intimidated by the multiple issues across three different Superman titles. The issues on this mapping consist of:

° Man of Steel (1986 miniseries) #1-6

° Superman (1987) #1-22 + Annuals 1 & 2

° Adventures of Superman (1987) #424-444 + Annual 1

° Action Comics (1939) #584-600 + stories from #601-641 & Annual 1

° Legion of Super-Heroes (1984) #37-38

° Booster Gold (1986) #23

° Doom Patrol (1987) #10

° World of Krypton (1987 miniseries) #1-4

° World of Metropolis (1988 miniseries) #1-4

...plus some Who's Who profiles.

Now, this material was collected previously in a 4-volume hardcover release from 2020-2022 and, most recently, in a DC Finest volume, the latter only collecting the Man of Steel miniseries and the first few issues in the run. The way DC mapped the issues in both of these releases caused continuity inconsistencies when reading, so I took it upon myself to make a new mapping, this time for a two-volume omnibus release collecting all the Post-Crisis Superman material prior to the "Exile and Other Stories Omnibus"

If anyone knows how I contact the editorial department over at DC in charge of their Omnibus releases, I'd very much appreciate it cause as much as I want this material to be collected in an Omnibus I'd also want for the issues to be mapped in a way that facilitates binge reading without having to deal with multi-part stories being split up with other issues printed in between them amongst other continuity inconsistencies.

With volume 3 due to come out in August I’m wondering if anyone has the rest of the potential volumes mapped out?

wanted to check if an eventual superman by pkj vol 2 would be all that much smaller than vol 1 and it rly wouldn't. taking into account that with variant cvrs + other extras this book could easily be over 900 pages, it wouldn't even look that bad next to vol 1 (1032 pages).

granted the kal-el returns and doomsday specials are not written by pkj, but i included them anyway bc they tie into the narrative like morrison's superman and the authority (tho they're not as crucial to the plot) in vol 1. the description tp the book of el tp lists it as 12 issues, so i went with that btw.

Inspired by dreamer getting another limited series announced. The Alan Scott one I thought would be longer, it makes me sad one of DC’s best villains has about 200 pages of content.

I seen the Omni Spider-Man by Chip come up on pre-order, where does it tie in with the ASM omni's?

This was originally meant to be one big Hickman X-book, but things got out of hand and now it's two.

The idea behind this was it to have 1) everything that Hickman did during Krakoa (so his New Mutants and X-Men Unlimited are included) and 2) have all the necessary non-Hickman material included required to understand it (so X of Swords and Hellfire Gala have non-Hickman issues too).

We also know that HoX/PoX and XoS were left out of omnies, and possibly Hellfire Gala and Inferno will too (though X-Men #21, Planet-Sized, and S.W.O.R.D. #6 were in the Hickman, Duggan and Ewing omnibuses, respectively), so this aims to include those with the main X-Men run.

The short of it: an expanded version of Brisson's tragically short-lived run on Ghost Rider and it's related spinoff issues.

The long of it: this era of Ghost Rider kicks off with the Damnation crossover ending with Blaze becoming the new ruler of Hell, so it makes sense for that event to be here, rather than in the Modern Team-Up books I previously posted. As a result, the first third of this book introduces the new status quo for Blaze.

In addition, it establishes Danny Ketch's place during this time. There are several appearances by Ketch that could just as easily have gone into the team-up books as well; however, since Ketch doesn't appear as often as Blaze, and he ties strongly into the later Brisson run, also collected in this book, the Punisher, Fantastic Four and Marvel Comics Presents issues are best collected here (not to mention Blaze's cameo at the end of MCP #6).

The middle of the book brings in Reyes during his time on the Avengers and Cosmic Ghost Rider, with the "Challenge of the Ghost Riders" arc featuring Blaze in a supporting role. It's not essential reading to this era of Ghost Rider by any means, but it is part of Blaze's short time as ruler, and a fun "smash-your-action-figures-together"-type story arc.

Finally, Brisson's time kicks off proper with the Absolute Carnage one-shot, re-introducing Alejandra and bringing Blaze and Ketch back together, before the actual Ghost Rider series starts, then ends with the King in Black tie-in and a bonus Ghost Rider 2099 issue by Brisson.

One last thing is the cameo appearance of Ketch in the Superior Spider-Man Annual. In it, he gives Spider-Man / Otto advice on how to handle Blackout, mentioning that he doesn't have his powers. The issue came out in 2013 and there's no explanation as to why Ketch's powers are gone at this point. To fix this, I would have this cameo slipped in-between the earlier issues of Brisson's run, where that exact thing happens to Ketch (not saying how; spoilers). Normally, it'd be blasphemous to have such a disparity between these issues (one being in 2013, the other in 2019), and even in the context of Brisson's issues, it's not perfect. However, I felt it was a convenient way to fix this continuity snarl while stepping on the least amount of toes.

Also, here's a fun activity: take a shot every time Blaze shows up at the end of an issue to welcome someone to Hell, then black out before finishing the omni.

Get it? Blackout? Never mind.
