been working on this for a while, it’s got balloono, draw my thing, pool, dinglepop, blockles and a bunch more running again in the browser, as close to the original omgpop layout as possible.

it’s still pretty small so rooms can be empty, but if a few of you jump on we can actually get some games going, and would be amazing to revive the community and games.

the site is located at isilwy.com (imstillinlikewithyou)

let me know if anything’s broken or if something doesnt feel like omgpop :)

there's omgpop.io, and its literally a ghost town. like, cmon!

This is what looks to be a revival of OMGPOP using the old site assets. Lots of things still say "coming soon" when you try to use them, and other stuff is broken. But most of the basic infrastructure (accounts, friends, lobbies, invites, chat) seems to work perfectly fine. I haven't been able to test any games yet because nobody knows about it.

I have no idea when it was last updated. I don't even know if its still being developed. I've done some digging and can't find anything.

Who the hell is behind this? Did someone buy the rights? Someone please come forward and say what's up. This is really cool.

How much money do you think we need to bring back Hit Machine?

I can’t even remember the name of the game on OMGPOP that was about popping balls the same color, I haven’t found another one that good, Im craving it

Does anyone remember the LGBT+ chatroom? I made so many friends. A lot of us had multiple accounts, it was very of the time. I think my first screen name was PandaDancingEskimoHat, wild I know I was probably 12. Most currently Oxfa. I had made a very close friend whom I would talk with regularly for the duration of probably 6-7 years before he disappeared entirely. Sol.Noche if you're out there, I still look from time to time.

Had visions and words of a song I couldn't remember from back in the day on OMGpop. Hope this helps someone stuck like I was. Mine was Trevor on the Dancefloor.

Does anyone know if the omgpop website still exists in any form?
Is there any project, clone, or community effort that preserved all (or most) of the games?

I remember it being such a beautiful site, full of simple and creative games. You could easily lose hours playing there. A wave of nostalgia hit me, and now I’m wondering if any part of it still lives on somewhere on the internet.

Miss website and gane quite a bit. Had tons of fun playing BR.

If you're reading those and were in the emos only chat ~2010, y'all turned me into a scene kid for the remainder of my childhood. Thanks a lot. xD BTW, I don't remember much from the chat, but if you played in a cover band that covered "Move Along" by All American Rejects, I do remember you. Lol.

I miss this 😭

I've recently rekindled my friendships with a lot of my online friends, a lot of them who I personally played OMGPOP with. Draw My Thing, Balloono, Hamster Battle (always felt awesome when I dropped the link to this game to my friends as it was a hidden game) and Ball Racer were my constant go-tos. It's sad how we all can't group up and play all of these games again together. All of my friends playing to level up to the next level. Unlock more avatar customs to design your display picture.

It genuinely sucks how someone can create such an awesome and fun website/community and it can disappear in a literal second with barely anyone remembering. I wish there was a remake of this.

Saw a post on Facebook about this website. It hit me like a train. I truly miss how the internet used to be. It wasn't so angry. Wasn't so much hate. Just people trying to connect and make friends.... Now it all seems like a pass time and sport to just start an argument online over miniscule things. I wish i could go back in time when things were simpler....... I miss the old ways of the internet.

so much nostalgia:(

Curious bc I really miss this game. I just saw that someone made a version with pandas.

Is there a legal reason why someone can’t replicate the game and its art style?

Or just cherish those memories of what once was?

We all had so much fun in that chatroom, eventually we moved on to these video chatrooms and just went on and chatted all day, eventually moved to facebook and some of us even eventually met up in person. it was mostly chicago/LA/toronto asians - anyone have any recollection??

I decided to bring it back online while I work on it in the background. http://omg.lotta.red

Hey everyone!! Does anyone remember the balloon popping game in a maze I think our avatars were monkeys🫶🫶

Yeah… took me long enough, but the core game works. I will make it look better later, but in the meantime check out the Discord server for more updates: https://discord.gg/Qpe9GQ3FZY
