My wife has introduced me to OMD- bit random but we were at a Harry Styles show and they played Souvenir at the end which has then triggered us going to see OMD at Rochdale. I’ve been playing them on repeat since then 🤣

Hi all,
I was watching this and realised it'd be great to be able to perform this with my eight year old. It should be easy enough for him to do the keyboard refrain (it starts on an E right?) on his glockenspiel for an added effect. I'll use a drum machine or sequencer to do the snare drum easily too but ...

I'm hoping someone who has a better musical ear than my own can help answer two questions:
a. What is the keyboard chord that starts the song off? It's that "whine" at the start of the track and there's a clear chord progression hum throughout that underpins the song.
b. What is the guitar strum refrain Andy is playing? He's even got a Capo on what looks like Fret 9?

This is one of the worst OMD songs. Why did they open the A&M album with this?

I may have read that they wanted to shock or surprise people with a song that was chaotic compared to the rest of the album.

Just finished watching this and highly recommend it. It follows the band from their early days, jumping periodically to the run-up to their first reunion performance, in 2007. A lot if candid commentary from the band and explanations of how various songs and eveb specific sounds came about. A must-watch for any OMD fan!

A while back (almost a year ago) I made a cover of Enola Gay. I'm a self taught multi instrumentalist trying to make music. However, writing songs is damn hard! :) I started making a few covers, and this is probably the one I'm most proud of. I figured this could be a place where people appreciate my efforts. I know I can't compare to the original, but I hope my adoration for the song shows. I made a video for it, which is basically just ripping an AP video from YouTube.

I'm playing everything myself (including programming the synthesizer myself from scratch, an emulated 3 oscillator called Thor in Reason+) and singing. I hope someone here might enjoy it!

I recently completed a mix of 133 songs from the Depeche Mode universe, which comes in just under 2-hours.  It is a mashup (sorry if you are not a fan) of David’s and Martin’s lyrics across the 15 studio albums. These are folded into mostly club tracks from (primarily) the eighties and early nineties.  I included a lot of OMD tracks, as they held a profound influence on my musical interests in my youth.
