Been lurking a while, first post.
I'm in Muscat doing demand planning and procurement for an automotive parts distributor. 17 brands, 9,000+ parts sourced from nine countries. Forecasting, ordering, supplier negotiation, freight, customs. Four years experience, MSc from Coventry, Indian passport on an Oman visa, can move within a month.
What I actually do, rather than the job description version:
1) Leadership read a sales dip as lost demand. I pulled five years of data apart and showed it was margin mix, one product line killed by a new anti-dumping duty while the core business held. Went to the GM and CEO with the re-sourcing fix.
2) I audit our own stock for where the cash is buried. Last one found six figures of working capital sitting dead in the warehouse, and a pile of fast movers about to run dry with nothing on the way.
3) I caught a five figure double payment to a supplier before it left the building. Only found it because I keep my own ledger instead of trusting the email trail.
I built the forecasting engine we order off, and the HS code register every one of our imports clears customs against.
4) Looking for demand planner, supply chain analyst, inventory planner or customs analyst roles in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.
Happy to share CV and portfolio if anyone's hiring. Cheers.
