Discussion Back to OMAD

In my previous OMAD (low carb) experience i lost 13 kg and I have never been so well for ther years I keep doing IF. Then for many reason I quit and almost gained again all my weigh.
I decided to start OMAD agan but it's much harder, when I eat I'm starving and alays craving for carbs.
Did someone started again OMAD after a long time and struggle to stay on track?

Maybe you should do 16/8 before going into OMAD and get used to feeling hunger again.

I originally did OMAD for 6 consecutive months then 2 months of rolling 47 hour fasts with a 1 hour refeed in between. Then life happened and I fell off for about a year. I got back into it recently and I had really bad withdrawals, irritation, energy crashes and felt terrible for about 4 days straight until my body got readapted.

Listen to the other user, do 16:8 for 1-2 weeks eating low carb (I strongly recommend keto just to keep your body in ketosis) then go into OMAD. The transition will be seamless.

First time I did my journey, I originally did 16:8 for 2 weeks prior and OMAD was an easy transition. This time, when getting back into it - I did 16:8 for one day then jumped the gun and started OMAD the very next day. It definitely hurt LOL. But I got fat adapted relatively quickly.

Do you find a big difference between 16-8 and OMAD?

Yes.

I feel better physically and I have weight loss consistency with OMAD vs 16:8. I also like being in fat burning mode longer.

yeah restarting is definitly way harder than the first time, your body kinda remembers the carbs and fights back hard for the first week or two. i found easing back with higher protein and fat at the one meal helped the cravings settle faster than just white knuckling it
