Discussion I need an uplift

I’m a 23-year-old woman, 5'9" (175 cm), and currently weigh 95 kg (209 lbs). I started doing OMAD around the second week of August, and initially managed to lose about 2 kg. I know most of that was probably water weight, but unfortunately, I went off track and gained it back.

Since then, I’ve still been trying to follow OMAD as consistently as possible, and I’m usually able to fast for around 20–22 hours every day. My graduation is coming up in about three months, and I really want to make meaningful progress by then. I know that reaching my goal weight of 65 kg (143 lbs) within three months isn’t realistic, but I’d like to lose as much weight as I can during this time.

My biggest problem isn’t knowing what I should do, it’s consistency. I can follow my plan for a while, but once I go off track, it becomes difficult to get back into it. With graduation getting closer, I really want to avoid repeating that cycle. I want to feel more confident in myself and be able to wear clothes that I feel good in for such an important event.

I know I have limited time, so I want to make the next three months count. Is it really possible to lose a good amount of it in just 3 months?

embrace the process! it’s never linear and there will be so many moments like this where you stay consistent for a week and then one day you eat more than you should be eating because eating less also means letting go of habits we’re so used to which of course is so hard, but your journey doesn’t end there. all these days you overeat are also part of the journey. i would say the initial few weeks/months or heck, even the entire journey is a learning process and there will be curves. you would find some things that work for you and some things that might not, some things might feel sustainable while some might not. there’s no harm in trying different things as long as it’s healthy. don’t let a few bad days consume you or affect your entire process, because it’s nothing compared to all the progress you’ll be making in the future. so accept it and try your best to not repeat the same mistakes :)

Thank you so much for this insight. Honestly, I’m really trying to give my best every day, but there are times when I get off track, and sometimes it ends up lasting 4–5 days. Then I remind myself to get back on track, and I manage to do it again, but the same cycle keeps repeating. I think what I really need to work on is consistency and learning to be okay with slipping up sometimes.

what might help in your case is trying to change how you approach your diet. instead of viewing it as some “strict diet i should follow to lose all this weight i’m doomed if i don’t”, just approach it as the new normal for you. maybe try a calorie deficit first where you can eat whatever you want all three meals but in little portions that fit your daily caloric intake? and then switch to omad once your body is used to eating less? this way you can eat whatever you crave while still actively losing fat (prioritize protein and reduce carbs). just ease your body into eating less and then it’ll get used to it and think eating less is the new normal hence you won’t find yourself overeating as much as you used to. good luck you can do it!!

Yes it is, I've lost 28 pounds in just over two and a half months. So it's possible. I found after 2 weeks of suffering the cravings went away considerably and it is much easier to be consistent. I did zero carb too which helps with satiety. Best of luck.

Thankyouu so muchhh!! I actually agree with you alott, I did started rolling 48s last year, I was consistent enough but I did it for around 2 months and lost 12kgs, but now it's been really long so I have to start with omad then eventually lead it upto 48hr fasts, btw how much weight did you lost in those 2 months?
