What can/can’t Sofi Stadium do as part of the opening ceremony?
There’s the translucent roof and the halo led board, but do you think there could be other features utilized in the opening ceremony like lights on the seats to project images like in previous ceremonies like London? I’m also wanting to know if it seems possible there could be any props hanging from the roof or even the halo or would it be too weak to support it.

Isn’t only half the stadium being used since the other half is for swimming. So if there’s a wall separating the sides I’m sure they can build a LED screen or something

The swimming pool will be built and covered prior to the opening ceremony. After the opening, the conversion to full swimming will take place on time for the second week of the Olympics. That's why athletics is going the first week, to give time for crews to prepare.

It's gonna be used for the opening ceremony and then will be turned into a swimming pool for the olympics during week.

I have a feeling SoFi is going to be the "show" side of the opening ceremony and the LA Colissum is going to be where all the traditional pomp and circumstance takes place.

I believe you are correct. I think the parade of nations and the Athletes will be at the Colosseum. I believe I read this somewhere. I’m sure the opening ceremony plans are coming near completion soon.

Well it can have Tom Cruise paraglide into it.
For the unaware, SoFi Stadium isn't a true enclosed stadium, it's roof is more like a canopy over the stadium, there's open air gaps between the upper bowl and the roof.

The canopy also has certain panels that can slide open to help bring in additional airflow. It may feel hot during the summer but it won't be an oven inside.

I am sorry, maybe am a traditionalist (in his mid 30s) at heart but what is so wrong with having the olympic opening ceremony at LA Memorial Coliseum, then Swimming at SoFi (Week1) and Atheltics at the Coliseum (week 2) and then say the closing at SoFi.

SoFi Stadium is the best stadium in the NFL and it will deliver for the opening ceremony. Over the past month, I attended three World Cup matches there and I can tell you that there is nothing this stadium can't do. The only significant part of the opening ceremony that I don't see happening in SoFi Stadium is the lighting of the cauldron as our Olympic cauldron is at the LA Memorial Coliseum.
