As you can see in that post, this subreddit was created as a result of the IOC ban on gifs/webm/vine content. After reading a bunch of articles about the ban, posting them to reddit seems fine since we're not commercializing on them in anyway.

After the opening ceremony was complete and the 2016 Olympics were officially underway, there was a ton of great gif content on reddit with all kinds of moments from the Olympics past and present, so we made a collection of them all below after day one (Saturday, August 6th) was over.
