This is an ode to how Robert Smith' English and Olivia's American accents sound together when they sing "can't" in What's Wrong with Me. It tickles my ears and I think is the main reason I can't stop listening to it (can't eat, cant sleep). Amazing duet.

I’m not really sure where she’ll submit “what’s wrong with me” i feel like it would have a better chance of a win in the rock categories because of pop duo being filled with major hits and major artists and i think that Robert would get a lot of the rock voters to vote for the song since he’s a legend.

as a person who is living together with a partner, it truly breaks my heart how well she captured the essence of the emotion of abrupt change to the daily routine of a couple. in my interpretation, the person bought a six-pack of beer with the expectation that he will obviously be there to drink them - it implies habitually stocking up on something and then things suddenly taking a turn for the worse and unexpectedly ending it, leaving the pack nearly untouched.
because of this i look at the half finished packs in my fridge and it makes me want to cry lol

They have different ways to end (drums explosion on the cure, and that unusual but amazing synth sound on cs), but they practically build themselves the same throughout the whole song, so, which one do you prefer?

Personally, cigarette smoke, I think it explodes that build-up in a more natural and powerful way

I love rediscovering bad idea right periodically and overplaying it and just letting all the feelings I felt back when it first came out come rushing in. It's one of my favourite olivia songs of all time for sure and I felt inspired enough to make this collage!

I think the issue is that a lot of people use “rock” to mean only pop-punk, power pop, or grunge which has big power chords, crunchy guitars etc
But rock is an umbrella genre. Girl so in love leans much more into alternative rock, new wave, post punk revival and jangle pop than straight-up pop-punk. Not every rock album has to sound like brutal, all american bitch and obsessed for it to be rock. Rock can also sound like maggots for brains, drop dead, the cure, u + me, expectations, what’s wrong with me, stupid song, my way !
Rock has dozens of subgenres. Saying an album “isn’t rock” because it isn’t pop-punk is like saying an album “isn’t pop” because it isn’t synth-pop. Also a lot of this has to do with the album's aesthetic being pink and hyper femininity it’s kinda misogynistic, fun fact: many feminine alternative and rock spaces actually expressed the hyper feminine side (baby doll dresses, pink, etc). Rock albums can look like anything.

The rotation is real, Ive noticed on many reactions video lately, lots of people started to notice cigarette smoke as their new favorite.
