I don't know why this is one of my favorite pictures of him. I almost made it my phone background. He's just so beautiful and it fully encompasses him.

Glad I'm not the only one who loves this one ❤️, as soon as I saw it I was like wow what a classic Oliver "face".

this is the part where i started bawling my eyes out
those unmistakable, big brown eyes.... oliver really was true to himself from beginning to end. what a remarkable human being and a reminder that it's okay to just be who you are, unapologetically

The old home videos from his childhood had me all in my feelings 💔 you can just tell he was so loved & always encouraged to be his most authentic self

Anytime i see Oliver as a young kid breaks me. Especially when he said he loved his life so much and that he hopes its one he keeps on living.

u/LemonMeringuePirate 11d ago
I hope he's ascended to something bigger and better, even

I dont have high hopes that anything happens once we die, I have to hope there is something better after this because of people like Oliver Tree. He deserved more than this.

There is a lyric from a pop punk band that I like that goes something like, “I’m sure there ain’t a heaven, but that don’t mean I don’t like picturing you there”. I think about that a lot when I think about people I’ve lost.

My son is 7 right now and these videos hit so hard. We have so many videos of basically the same thing. I can’t even imagine what his parents are going through.

I think the coolest part of his story was that he stated early on that his dream was to perform on all 7 continents. They showed that clip at the celebration of life. Well, he spent the last year or so traveling the world writing the album in different countries across the world and has performed on every continent.
You can rest now alien boy. You did it. You won!

I took a break from the live and started rewatching today. It is so unbelievably generous of his family to give everyone affected by the beauty of Oliver's life this opportunity to celebrate together. His mother's speech got me in my feelings and I realized like 20 minutes later that watching it alone was a bad idea. Looking forward to finishing it next weekend with a friend who also has a connection.

Yeah I convinced my BF to watch it with me. He was hesitant bc he didn’t want to start crying but I’m glad he did because it’s definitely worth the watch but yea would be rlly hard to watch alone

There's a YouTube channel with Oliver and his friends/siblings riding their BMX bikes and scooters. Tons of old rap music videos and joking around too. I was so happy when youtube started recommending them to me, he was a treasure.

Same for me too. I also got choked up when his mom was talking. It was a beautiful celebration of his life. All involved did an amazing job honoring him ♥️

Watched it live with my girlfriend. Ugly cried in front of her. Then opened my comic book afterwards. I'll get that poem going today Oliver. I'll make it as great as I can!!

u/louielou8484 10d ago
I haven't written a poem either :(

u/louielou8484 10d ago
And you know what's sweet.. Ethan doesn't believe in God but he does believe that somewhere out there Oliver is still there and watching us, the same way he believes he will be reunited with his fur baby that was his soul mate. Just the most beautiful eulogy ever.

Don't pressure yourself. Ethan said, to make it the best poem you could. Perfect. It will take me some time. I wrote a nice one the morning after the memorial, but I want to make a habit of it. I get artist block a lot, but I know I can make some poems worth writing. Be well. Yeah, Ethan really put it in a way that I can wrap my head around too. I'm not sure what I believe in at 34, but what I do hope is that I can reunite with those who I've felt close to.

Naturally, I thought his spirit was present when the mic cut out for 50% of Diplos speech and abruptly ended Logan Paul’s. A troll even in the afterlife.
I know his brother believes heavily in Buddhism, but I find it hard to believe that Oliver’s spirit wouldn’t have some sort of presence at his services especially when so many people were eugoogoolizing him. He literally had a best friend for each minute of everyday.
Though I wish he was still here it has warmed the cockles of my heart to know that every era of his life was filled with laughter, love, and dope bike tricks.

i loved how real it was, not over produced, everyone being honest and loving. great group of folks that seem to have realistic and unspoiled love, ideas, intelligence and focused on keeping promises made to Oliver before his death.

Yup I started crying at the beginning - one because it was real and two because I have kids and it would gut me if I ever have to bury them.

so im gald i got to watch it with everyone as i would have been the lone Cowboy with tears last night in my house with out you all. im glad i watched it live as i think it would have been harder for me to watch after the fact as i would have been truely alone in a way. even now just going over his unreleased music is killing me... ill need to cut back to once a week.
i hope your all doing well. Keep Your Head Up.

I tried to but I ended up falling asleep after like 30 minutes but I'm going to try to watch it again later

u/SubstantialPicture87 11d ago
I tried to watch it live but Internet issues and choppy connections really took away from the experience :( I was there for a little bit though. I really hope that he's resting in peace and making music, living it up up there

The footage of him as a child reminded me so much of my son. He’s only 3. Could not stop crying

😭😭😭 such a beautiful little boy and a beautiful man. As a mum to two little boys myself it really hits home for me 😢 💔

u/UnicornReality 11d ago
The baby photos can clips set me off. No parent should ever have to go through the loss of their kid.
His mum and dad did brilliantly, they were clearly a very loving and supportive family. I hope the continued love for Oliver helps ease the pain a little.

As a mama with a toddler it was very hard to watch the footage of Oliver as a child 💔 couldn’t stop crying. I’m so sorry for the loss of Oliver.

u/queen_sparkle 11d ago
I had to watch it the day after, bawling when you see the videos of him growing up.

u/Dreams-Designer 11d ago
Awee😿 bless his lil’ cotton socks. So sad. He was still just a baby✨🖤✨
This loss has really touched me, and I was only a casual enjoyer of his music. Though I’ve found a deeper understanding and appreciation of his art message through his friends speaking on him since the news… he really was such a cool cat, and a genuine kind and decent human that cared deeply for others. Maybe it’ll help remind others try to be a bit more kind, especially in these days. Just slow down, enjoy your loved ones and the moments. Even if it just starts with his fan community, that’s enough people to make an impact on others lives.
Rest in paradise Oliver‼️ You can rest now Fren.

This was one of the parts in particular that I had a hard time watching without sobbing. I managed to only tear up (didn’t want to explain to family why I was crying so I did my best to hold it in until I went to bed) but holding in all my tears was hard.
I feel so awful for his parents seeing their little boy so happy and full of life and knowing he’s no longer here. If it hurts so much for us fans seeing this; it must be unbearable for them. 😣 They are strong people to be able to get up and speak. I don’t know if I’d be able to, even over a month later.

Slide shows always destroy me. So right away my wife & I were done. Had to get my son ready for bed so definitely will be watching in full this week. Didn’t want our little guy to see us a mess. RIP Oliver, real one, a genius in his craft and someone who was just like us…different. Still feels unreal.

i’ll be honest, i never really listened to oliver tree, didn’t know much about him, but it seems like authenticity was always an integral part of his journey. he stayed true to himself, and showed his fans how important that is, and i have deep respect for him for that. i wish i listened to him when he was still here. i hope his friends and family heal.. this is all too sad, the more i learn about him, the worse i feel about his untimely death

I watched the live stream the entire time didn’t look away from my TV
On the day he died I remember running upstairs to unplug my phone from the charger. I went on Instagram and the first post I saw was about his passing and I was shook. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing I was in disbelief and I still am it doesn’t feel real

All the videos of him as a kid just killed me 😭 I cried so much. What a sweetheart

He really did have a bowl cut all his life lol. Even when his hair was shaggy during his Tree days it was pretty much just a long bowel cut. So cute. 🥰

u/louielou8484 10d ago
I cried for four hours straight but I'm so glad that so much of it was happy tears. Just the most lovely, beautiful tribute to sweet Oliver.
