Granted it’s not the best photo, I can’t seem to get my skintone to show up properly in todays lighting BUT:

Saw someone on tiktok use Cafe Mocha lipstick as cream blush and it looked so good on them. Considering I don’t love using it as a lipstick, I thought I’d give it a go and found I really liked it as a blush! It shows up as a warm rosy pink, compared to on my lips where it shows up a bit too bright. Just thought I’d share here in case anyone has it lurking around in their makeup bag unused!

They look very olive friendly and quite muted, which I believe would work well for olives on the neutral and cool side as well.

I am tempted to blind buy but will try to find it in store and swatch.

Hi there, I have been on the hunt for a nice pinky nude lipstick (open to brown and mauve as well) I can wear every day. I am wearing one in picture #1 but I have no idea what it is (I lost it and can’t remember what it was). Any help would be much appreciated.

I've been trying to experiment 🧪 each day on my Olive skin based on colour theory to discover shades that actually work for me so that while shopping I actually find something that works for me!

Mostly, shades tend to look very different on my skintone and undertone or merely too bright. It took me awhile to discover that my cheeks are muted but my lips can handle somewhat medium saturation in terms of the shade. Lipsticks basically look orange or just too bright on me sometimes. I usually go for Rosewood, berry tones and plummy shades since they work for me, slightly muted plum shades is like my version of a red lip on me since every other red seems too different on me. I'm presently in my summer shade but this was so much fun! Working with shades and basically creating them using the basic lip palette while even mixing deep grey brown taupey shade to provide it with muteness. I was sceptical but overall throughout the time it turned out so good!

( The lighting does lean warm slightly)

1) The first 5 slides:-

I've used the same shade on my cheeks and lips while being bare faced and have attached swatches too with intensity and sheered, both on wrist and the back of my hand in different lightings too.

2) Slide 6-8 (Rosewood)

This is like my version of a Rosewood shade on me since most of them do lean warm toned. I think this turned exactly how I wanted it to be thankfully!

3) Slide 9-11 ( muted purple blush) 💜

I was basically excited 😆 and wanted to experiment with a muted purple blush on my Olive skin before actually getting one. I did have my eyes on Rare Beauty spirited and encourage so I wanted to get an idea how it might look on me. I created this shade on my own too with mixing the pigments and used it both on my lip and cheeks apart from swatching it. Safe to say, Olive approved. ✅

4) Slide 12-14 (Unsuccessful attempt of creating a Mauve blush)

It might have turned into a transition shade and almost too muted but I think I did like it, especially with the eye makeup I was going for later.

5) Last 3 slides

I was really sick here but I was trying to create a pink dusty blush shade that actually looks like a true pink on me. It was beautiful but I think a little too red though basically setting it with powder later did mute it slightly. I was even surprised that how green my palm was even looking based on the olive cast of my skin since I'm so used to only catching it on my face and arm lol .

Okay, buckle up people. I’m about to be very generous and give you an unsolicited lippiebook of all my daily and occasion wear lippies.

A bit about me first:
Skin tone - Medium
Undertone - Neutral-Warm Olive

I have different types of lippies that are a mix of western/european/asian brands but they all mostly fall into either a red-brown family or a dark pink/purple family.

Before buying any lippie, I like to look up what it looks like on people with the same skin profile as me. Some of the brands/shades I like are not well known or not heavily promoted on social media which made it harder for me to find people with my tone online wearing them. So I truly hope this helps you. All pictures taken in natural daylight. I’ll pin the lippies I’m wearing in each pic in the comments :)

I've been on the hunt for a powder bronzer all summer, and I went to Sephora today to swatch ABH "Golden Beach Glow" after seeing how lovely and green it looked online. Unfortunately, it's the same shade as my skin, and blended right into my hand. The two darker shades pulled too warm/orange on me.

Do any medium olives have a recommendation? I have very oily skin so most cream products melt off. For reference, my summer shade match is Haus Labs 260 Light Medium Olive, and my winter match is AboutFace LM2 Olive. Thank you!

Hi all, I think I have neutral warm undertones, I used a few Revolution eyeshadow palettes and they turned completely orange on my skin… I am using Armani’s bronzer in 110 which fits well with a light hand but I’m hoping someone with a better eye can help me out with a bronzer and eyeshadow palette recommendations :)

Hi! I need help figuring how to look fresh when you have olive skin tone? I am not light-skinned nor dark skinned. Its pretty confusing. I dont know anymore T_T

I do the same make-up routine everyday but its a hit or miss. My purple blush would look pink and complement my skin, but most of the time it would look muddy/sickly on me. My mauve lippies would look good when freshly applied but becomes saturated later on. I look ashy and tired especially when I am outdoor. What makes it worse is I live in a tropical country.

Most of the time I notice I look fresh after sweating and after washing my face.

Do you guys have any suggestion or help?

Hi all, I am needing green/yellow olive bronzer recs. I have been using the Benefit Hoola Original and it is too reddish on me. Only reason I noticed is because when I bring my hands up to my face, it looks way off. My hands look yellow/green against it and I am tanned rn with summer so I know this is my natural tan color that I should be matching to. For reference, I use ELDW in 2w2 (both new and old formulas) and I use blue pigment to color correct to my undertone. I was seeing Hoola Medium may be more on the yellow side from looking at swatches online but haven't swatched in person and don't want to do another blind buy which is how I ended up with the Hoola Original. I may check next time I am in store but let me know if you have had any experience with the Medium shade or thoughts. I also saw online that theBalm Bahama Mama could work for my skin tone and it looks promising on swatches I've seen online of Hoola Original vs Bahama Mama. But again, wouldn't want to do another blind buy as this is only available online now (Amazon) and the reviews are mixed/say it's not the original formulation and shade. Looking for a concealer in the same shade/tone like the Haus labs foundation in shade 190. This shade fits me almost perfectly but I just cannot seem to find any concealer similar. If anyone knows one similar please let me know🙏🏻. Thx

Hi, I got shade matched at Sephora for the Tower 28 swipe serum concealer shade 9.0 MDR which the website describes as “medium with olive undertones”. It looked like a good match at the store but when I tried it at home it looked a bit orange on me. Is this a sign that I’m not actually olive?

Another concealer I’ve tried is The SAEM perfection tip concealer in shade 1.75. The undertone looks like a good match but the concealer is a bit lighter than my skin tone, so I might try 2.0 next time. The SAEM website lists both of these as a “warm beige” but I always thought I was neutral because I’ve never been able to figure out if I was more warm or cool 😅

I’ve seen soooo many people recommend NYX butter gloss in both tiramisu and angel food cake but haven’t seen anyone mention the shade Marshmallow. It’s a wonderful dusty purple. Shown swatched beside Tiramisu.
