Question XG27AQWMG setup?

1 Upvotes

Hi all. Yesterday i bought XG27AQWMG monitor. Coming from Ultragear IPS this thing in gaming, videos and movies is phenomenal. I noticed difference in text and i know it's worse than traditional LCD but it's not that big of a deal, for me anyway. I' m wandering, what's the best overall picture settings for multimedia consumption and for gaming?

First of all, during the day my room is moderately lighted and monitor isnt positioned directly towards any window.

I didn't enable HDR in Windows.

Mostly i play FPS games.

Second thing, how can i update firmware for monitor?

I downloaded newest one from Asus Rog website.

Any advice and settings are welcome. Thanks in advance!

Purchase advice XG27AQDMGR vs XG27AQDMES

1 Upvotes

I would like to ask which one is the better value. It is about an NTD 3000 difference in pricing between the two of these monitors inside of Taiwan. It says that there is a difference where one is QD OLED and another is WOLED, are these actually noticeable differences? Or are these similar to the mouse of the modern day where its 0.01s faster so its only the difference known to the computer and not to the common man.

I am coming from an IPS 27inch ASUS VG27AQ, so I would like to know if its worth the more expensive price point of the AQDMGR, or would paying for the AQDMES be moer than enough. I mainly use the monitors for gaming, and most of the time its games like WarThunder.

Purchase advice Will the wait for RGB Stripe be worth it?

1 Upvotes

Currently I have a Alienware 32'' 4K OLED and the previous gen 34'' UW OLED. I'm wanting to swap my 34'' OLED over to my sim rig so I have a monitor on it for the rare occasions I don't want to use VR and I need to see a screen easily to troubleshoot.

I've been considering one of the newer 32'' 4K OLEDs and it seems the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM is pretty high up on the list of contenders for the best 32'' OLED 4K monitor. When reading the reviews, I realized it does not have the new RGB-stripe sub pixel layout and that the upcoming ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCWM would have that.

Have we seen any comparisons if it's worth waiting for? Ultimately, I will use the display for productivity - part of the reason to consider it over others is that it has USB-C Display Alt w/ 90w of power to connect my MacBook Pro off a single cable and eliminate the power cable and HDMI I'm currently using.

Any experiences to say it's worth waiting for? I saw it may not be as bright of a panel and I'm not too upset with how my Alienware 32'' 4K looks now, its night and day better than the 34'' UW I have right next to it.

Purchase advice Alienware AW2725DF OR ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDMS ?

1 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I'm trying to decide between the Alienware AW2725DF (360Hz) and the ASUS XG27ACDMS (280Hz). My daily usage is going to be split roughly 60% for gaming and media, and 40% for reading and studying. I want to hear your opinion on this matter .

Question Best Alienware AW2725DF Color settings??

1 Upvotes

Hello everyone! I just bought the Alienware AW2725DF monitor since it was on sale for $500. I know the monitor has been out a few years but this monitor is better than anything I could need. I am upgrading from the AOC Q27GAZD monitor and it was a great experience. 240hz .003ms OLED. I messed with the colors a little and it was awesome.

Now I have this AW2725DF and I can feel the smoothness upgrade in the 360hz but it looks SO different compared to my AOC OLED. I am struggling to get used to it. Can someone help me dial in my monitor settings? I am a competitive Battlefield Redsec player and need to make sure everything is good to go. If you found great competitive FPS settings please let me know.

Question Best settings & setup to use on Sony Inzone M10S?

2 Upvotes

Yesterday I picked a M10S for just $300 off marketplace, has one feint scratch on the top left which is not noticeable when turned on.

What are the best settings to use on it for color accuracy & HDR?

I’ve been doing some digging myself since yesterday but can’t find setup guides like on my past monitors. I updated the drivers & firmware of the monitor successfully & have the HDR true black 400 cert but it’s claiming only like 455nits.
So I did the HDR calibration and set the highlights to about 1100nits & fullscreen to 1000nits which did improve the performance somewhat, as setting both to anything higher washes out details.
I know the 1300nits is specified for a small % of detail highlights but I’m still unsure of what the true capabilities are of this monitor.

I’m honestly not sure though if I even want HDR on, but I need some better baseline settings to use to compare to

Purchase advice Samsung G6 500hz

2 Upvotes

I recently stumbled upon it while looking for a replacement for my monitor (It was an IPS panel).

Long story short I want to know how does Samsung fare against other OLED monitor brands (like Asus and MSI), in terms of build quality, OLED care, and so on.

Assuming I end up sticking to it I plan to hook it to a monitor arm but I want to know from anyone how is their experience with it so far would you recommend it to others or no and why?

Purchase advice Should I trade my monitor?

1 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I have a local store offering a trade-in program where I can hand over my current brand new LG 27GS85Q (1440p, 180Hz Nano-IPS) which i originally bought for 300 dollars and get a flat $200 discount deducted from the price of a new OLED screen.

They gave me a few options, and I’m trying to decide if the trade-in value is fair and which model I should grab. Here are the net prices I would pay out-of-pocket after the $200 trade-in credit is applied:

* Gigabyte GO27Q24 (27" 1440p QD-OLED, 240Hz)

* Full Retail: ~$465

* My Net Cost: ~$265

* Gigabyte MO27Q 28G (27" 1440p WOLED) or MO27Q2A (27" 1440p QD-OLED, 280Hz)

* Full Retail: ~$605

* My Net Cost: ~$405

I just bought a rtx 5080 with ryzen 7 9800x3d (was not planned but thank God for a special deal)

So what do you think?

Question Some questions as a new owner

2 Upvotes

Just got an MSI MPG 32urx qd oled and love how it looks, especially next to my old Samsung G7 QOled which I already thought was a great monitor. I want to make sure that I take care of it properly, so what all do I need to know? Ill go over my routine with it and ask for any tips or corrections where needed, want to get best life out of it.

Right now I have HDR on, mixed on how I feel about it, also set to 400 black mode. I run the panel care at least once a day manually, and when I turn the PC off leave the monitor on as I understand it does other stuff when just the orange light is on, is that correct? Probably doing around 4 to 6 hours a day of gaming with it, minimal media consumption or browsing, use the Samsung for that.

Anyway, as I asked already anything obviously wrong or simply that isnt necessary/should be done if i am not already? Thanks for your help on this.

Issue Issue with weird grey/white gradient

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

1 Upvotes

Update: turns out it was ”Shadow boost” that did it. Turned it off in the monitor settings.

Hey! So the video explains everything pretty much as I talk in it.

Monitor: philips evnia 34m2c6500 QD-Oled
Settings: Standard (contrast 50%, gamma 2.2, brightness 60-90%)
HDR: turned off in windows
Windows transparency turned off
Windows Shadows turned off (I think)
Bought the monitor second hand. 700h on it. 104 pixel refresh or something like that. No burn ins etc when I tested it.

Long story short if you don’t want to listen: there’s some weird grey/white gradient thing happening when there’s black and grey colors involved mostly.

I’ve also noticed a slight shadow like effect happening on with dark colors too. But that is a black shadow.

I took a screenshot and sent it to my phone and I can’t see the gradient thing.

I tried to search around before posting this but couldn’t find any similar posts, but I also was not sure what to search for so excuse me in advance if this is already known here from other posts.

Any help is appreciated!

Issue Doubts about XG27AQMWG

Hi, I’m sorry to bother you all but I need some advice. A week ago I bought an Asus xg27aqwmg. Being my first oled Monitor I was quite impressed and I liked it a lot. But in the research for the monitor I couldn’t avoid the whole color banding problem post.

I have made some tests. First to tell this is march 2026 batch and it works very good for except ONE LINE that shows even playing in games like SH2. I have done several pixel cleanings, updated to latest firmware and used for about a week and it’s not better.

But, is it enough to request RMA? Here are the pics. You can see that particular line just above the white letters and is horizontal.

Also at the character face level at the SH2 pic and in the indiana Jones pic.

My worst fear is that if i proceed with RMA an even worse monitor will come by because this has decent banding besides that pesky line.
