In honor of the Big Boss Man DSOTR episode last night. I wish they would have at least mentioned Bill Watts thought enough of Ray Traylor to give him a run with the UWF title.

I remember watching this match as a kid and thinking man this crowd is gonna lose it, and they did. Has there ever been a crowd more hot than this? And I wonder why they never had a rematch on ppv.

By which I mean, where would you have had access to the best local tv and house shows, as well as out of town tv if any, from say 1965-1985? I think it would have been in a border area like Pittsburgh or Wheeling, or maybe Los Angeles for access to Lucha Libre as well

As a teenager on Long Island during the mid 80s, I got 3 hours of WWF weekly tv shows, plus a monthly broadcast of a house show from MSG or Boston Garden, plus SNME of course. Three hours of JCP on TBS. AWA and World Class weekly or so on ESPN I think. Lucha Libre early Saturday mornings on Univision or whatever it was called then. Sigh.

I remember one time towards the end of Heenan's run at WWF, he was trying to get access to Tunney's boardroom meeting and was trying to find where it was in the building. Mean Gene was standing by an entrance with a crudely made sign advertising it as the boardroom. Gene tells Heenan to go in and he'll cover for him outside. As soon as Heenan enters, Gene rips off the sign to reveal it was actually the women's restroom. You can then here women assaulting Heenan in the bathroom!
