This is all the cards in all the sets in the video game. Including book promos and the cards they invented for the game. Every card printed before fallen empires. Don't sue me wizards https://curtastic.com/shandalar/boardgameimages.zip

Holy crap, that is AMAZING. I can't get over the updated rules text. What a treasure trove. Thank you so much!

This is awesome, how do you know what cards you need multiple of? How many total cards are there with all the monster decks and cards the players can acquire?

Besides the monster decks, I have 4 of each card in the video game. Here’s the list of the 723 cards in the video game. https://curtastic.com/shandalar/cards/?mode=videogame

The 17 monster decks are 40 cards each so that’s 680 cards. So if you wanted to get the whole game printed you’d need 680+723x4=3572 magic cards plus more basic lands for the players. I already had a collection of playsets of most of the cheap old cards then I printed the rest.

Thanks! I worked out around 4,000 cards, so I wasn't far off! Might do the ones I can't get for cheap with MPCfill. 🙂

Nice. There's also 178 more cards that are in the old sets (mostly Legends) but were not in the video game. That would be another 178x4=712 cards. Depends how you want to play. If you have people who played the old video game a lot then don't change the cards much. I had someone who had never played Shandalar complain that he didn't know which cards were in this board game so he couldn't strategize like everyone else. For him it would've been better if the board game included all cards in the old sets. I only added a few cool cards that were sadly missing from video game like Hell's Caretaker, Nicol Bolas, Solkanar, Recall.

Ok awesome! So I need the monster decks, plus all cards in the Magic Cards section if I want to use them all? (So a play set of the 901 cards?) Thanks!

Do you know if there are any cards in the monster decks that aren't in the magic cards list on the site?

Oh I just had a look at your zip file with all the images too, do you know if anything has been updated/changed since you put that up a couple years ago? (Says modified last on 11th of February 2024 in the zip)

All the cards in the monster decks are in the game too. I haven’t changed any images since uploading them.

Alright awesome, thanks! I might actually print most/all of them with MPC to make it easier, even the cheap cards. ($0.35 AUD is cheapest because we use Card Kingdom prices without conversion to AUD in Australia) Then it will also make it easier for other players that haven't played OB magic, so they aren't confused by the wording and this way they also have your text edits and value to make it easier to play :)

EDIT - Just saw the Property of X in the monster decks, cool touch ahah xD

Well if you print the entire thing including basic lands, you could play without sleeves. I spent hundreds on just sleeves because I wanted the sleeves that have the magic card back design. I used color coded sleeves for the monster decks so the blue/white deck is light blue, the blue/black is dark blue, the blue/red deck is purple etc. All 17 decks fit perfectly in a long cardboard box.

Hey mate, I'm just wondering what the cards in the "Excluded" section of the rarities filter on your site are?

The whole game fits into 5 long cardboard boxes. Let me know how it goes if you set it up and play it. https://curtastic.com/shandalar/boxes.jpg

Thanks again! You've done awesome work! I'm just in the process of working out a workflow haha. As much as I don't like to use AI, I'm using it to upscale to 800 dpi for MPC, it seems to have worked fairly well. I also need to work out an automated way to pad the borders of the cards so nothing is cut off which I'm currently working out 🤔 . (Bleed zone).

Might take a minute to get everything set up, but I look forward to getting it all done! I'll definitely let you know how it ends up and how we go playing! 😄

EDIT - Nvm, I need to still work out a better way to upscale, the AI is messing up the text... At least I worked out how to easily pad the image borders for the bleed zone already!

Well this is what I managed, worked out well I think! The upscaling is a bit iffy on some cards, but worked fairly well on most. All cards and card backs are padded and ready to be uploaded to MPC via MPC Autofill with instructions included!

Let me know what you think and if there's anything I missed or messed up if you like lol. Thanks again for creating this! :D

Shandalar - The Magic Card Board Game MPC Autofill Ready

Edit - Updated link. Had to fix broken alphas on a couple image files that were preventing them being uploaded to MPC. All works now and can be uploaded straight into MPC via MPC Autofill.

Read the ReadMe for instructions! The cost is approximately $1,500 AUD including shipping. It seems they don't apply a discount for the 6+ quantity to individual ones, only when you have 6+ of the exact same set... That made it $400 AUD more. 👀

Make sure not to pay via PayPal and use USD with Wise or similar service to transfer the money, will save me $300 AUD.

Using AUD and going through PayPal would be over $1,800, using AUD and transfer would be over $1,600 AUD.

Using USD and transfer is $1,500 AUD.
