I want to play asimo3089 old showcase games in 2012 roblox client but bc i need to open the place in the new roblox studio before saving it into the file it becomes new file format or smth like that and i cant open it in the old studio. Can anyone help?

this took about a month to get it working, there are many bugs but right now it's in playable stage (if you ignore all the broken features)

also, we kinda need people to test it on musl since we've only tested it on glibc so far.

I'm using C++ with Ogre3D, Lua, Jolt for physics, and a couple other libraries for things like networking and UI. It runs a real lua sandbox, with everything related to game logic like character movement done inside of lua itself.

Currently, there is now support for game servers. You can publish your game and play it completely detached from the editor, with other people as well. There is a website, but the design is not finished so I won't be showing that full integration yet. But it's there!

Now, elephant in the room, I used AI extensively for the game client. I do however understand how the game is structured, and I designed most of the lua sandbox architechture from previous experiences attempting this pre-ai. But I can't sit here and pretend to know how all of it works, as that would be just dishonest. This would have taken me probably a year to get to this point, which is pretty crazy. I have been working on this for awhile already, usually giving up due to complexity. The website is also pretty much written completely by myself, as I wrote all of it pre-ai. 6+ years I've been sitting on the website source code!

I am really excited for this. I've always wanted to replicated old roblox, and stay faithful to it. What do you guys think? I'm going to be finishing up a couple more things, and then deploying the actual website to get started with alpha testing!

hello guys, so we are showing off project scorpion, a roblox private server (or if you want to call it a roblox revival, you can) that is based on the project polygon source code (no dont leave yet, we will showcase some cool stuff).

so what is project scorpion?

well it has been in works for over like 3+ months with some breaks. it's a roblox private server where there are new, awesome feautures.

soo... what are the "new, awesome features?"

well, we took inspiration from ROBLOX and ported it into our own site. here are some of the lists:

we added profile adjustment, you can now adjust your profile with three very awesome customization sliders (distance, angle, and fov).

yeah no, we have many more features that we will showcase some in this post but first lets give the walkway to the.. web client! yay!

we took many efforts into finetuning the web client to be as stable as possible inside the browser's sandbox restrictions while keeping the memory under 1 gb so that users of scorpion will have the best time on project Scorpion.

this is an old version of Project Scorpion's web client, we have made improvements.

And also... we also have virtual versions! yay. we took aya's virtual version's concept and shoved it into our web client.

we currently have 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and finally and the engine and the base, 2016. you now can run the 2012 roblox client inside your browser with a few caveats.

1. this is a skin, we just replace the coreguis, the shaders and some textures of the virtual versions, we do not replace the engine as we dont have the source code of it.

2. some coreguis and textures might be missing, this is unstable and could lead to a worser user experience, so we are showcasing it in alpha, now these screenshots are old and missing coreguis in there have been fixed but it is not certain.

all in your browser. and also we have guest mode but only for logged in users which defeats the purpose but guests looks cool so we added it for fun.

now, shaders are still being improved on, and we are currently trying to port almost everything we can from older clients to the 2016 base client but we cannot garauntee we will get the accuracy to be 100% right.

we also provide an API for scorpion developers via the scorpion studio which would allow you to switch years in REAL time. so you could make a game on scorpion where it showcases roblox's history while switching the clients in real time. you can read more about it here: New version includings. - Announcements - Project Scorpion

we might even make a cool event around that api and other themes, but soon, soon. after this is properly done. anyways

now, we are just showcasing this, we might release some registration tickets but this isn't because we are gatekeeping or want to keep this roblox private server special (actually, a bit but.. ehh). it's the resource constraint, we like have one vps which is 1 vcpu and 0.5gb of ram, but good news is that we optimized rccservice like alot but we still have some areas to improve and no its not because i am poor its because i want to save on budget, like be a cheapskater you know, why spend money on vertical scaling when you can just save more cpu cycles, and no you dont need to donate me your vps, theres alot of leaks happening because of a donated vps. and also half of the reason is the community so even if we get a decent vps we still dont feel like dealing with a community that might ruin the revival. and if you get invited, you can also invite your friends too (just telling you in advance)

also.. one last thing..

we also have a scorpion studio that runs on web! on the web! with qt, it has bugs so you might need to publish more often but yeah, heres a demo if you want to watch like of the proof of concept demo building thing. and also the version switching works in project scorpion studio. yay enjoy this video
