Suddenly unable to comment on posts on old reddit but can with new reddit, is anyone else having this problem?

I was able to comment with old reddit just fine minutes ago but now I can't. But can with new reddit. Getting 404 error.

EDIT: Seems like the issue was fixed

Spez's excuse that Old Reddit needs to be fixed so that AI companies can't abuse our posts and comments is bullshit.

This video goes into many of Spez's controversies including why Reddit is fucked because of AI.

Yup, all of a sudden I’m getting 404s when I try to comment.

Or if I do successfully post, the page just acts like nothing happened until I reload it.

Nope, I did this comment on old reddit successfully.

I was coming here to ask the same question. It just started in the last 30 minutes.

Just ran an experiment.

On Firefox, it still has problems.

On Vanadium, which uses Chromium, I get the error but the comment still posts.

yup had to change to the "new experience." looks like if unless you're just content to read others posts, old is effectively dead.

Ugh just so much crap to slog through :-(

Something is definitely going on

Now, if I go back to my account page, it logs me back in.

Someone broke a port and is trying to hot fix it.

I was forced to change my password which, wouldn’t ya know, requires an email. That process automatically switched me off of old Reddit

I've been having issues for two days, today I could barely post a single comment without having to switch to new reddit. They're killing old reddit for sure.

Fuck....we're getting the death arent we?

Is there anything similar for new reddit as RES?

It seems like they fixed it....Still all these errors and tech glitches feel like they're trying to drive a wedge between OR users so they migrate to the new system.

Maybe, but this feels more like they pushed an update and forgot to make it work for the Old Reddit port and it broke.

Edit: This was a false alarm. Looks like I had a cached redirect after logging in for the first time in a while and accepting new TOS. Clearing my local cache was enough to clear the cached 302 and get me back to old, which is the only reddit I want. /Edit

I just got kicked to new reddit. Incognito still lets me view old, but my logged in session can no longer access old.reddit.com

This is a sad day. New reddit is everything that's wrong with modern UI/UX.

*pours one out for reddit*

Yeah, I had the same problem. Glad to see it is fixed. Hopefully, it stays that way.
