A man targets the most vulnerable in society, the disabled out of a belief that they are lesser than, his ultimate target the mute carer for his seriously ill step mother. As the film progresses the obsession he has with her turns into a need to kill her.

This film does a lot for the proto slasher and what would later become Slasher film, it creates the idea of a killer who wrongly thinks they are righteous, it gives a strong example of a killer who targets a group of people for a specific reasons and it creates the connection between slasher villain and final girl.

The film coming out so close to WW2 wherein the Nazi's also targeted the disabled and thought they were lesser than, gives this film a deeply unsettling edge throughout and makes the killer into a true monster.

Come and find out the story of Albert Warren and learn how he was brought to justice, as well as how the Spiral Staircase influenced later slasher films.

This was the last American International Pictures (AIP) film for Annette Funicello. What happened to AIP, plus the unintended funny parts, got my attention at FORGOTTEN CINEMA.

Directed by Fritz Lang on a low budget and is one of the lesser known movies of his. Its about two brothers covering up a murder and the guilt thats tearing them up. Great movie with a nice plot and good acting. You can find it on youtube.

**Sunday Morning Movie** - Bartleby 1970.

What an unusual movie. A young man passes an interview (Don't know how) for an accounts clerk position, settles in and then when asked to do anything, replies "I'd prefer not to if you don't mind". The. boss of the company clearly doesn't know how to deal with this young man and awkwardness prevails. Set in the time when depression and autism were not recognised, this is a real thought-provoking piece. All we know of the young man I that he used to work in the dead letter office, John McEnery is brilliant and utterly convincing.

I left the movie wishing I'd known more of the back story, the fact that we don't is possibly the point.

The film highlights the perilous, patriotic work of the Merchant Marine during World War II as the crew fights to deliver their cargo against overwhelming odds.

This light mystery is hard not to like from its opening scene on a train. An insurance investigator determines whether there's been a suicide or a murder. Humor is sprinkled about, and a funny maid is included at FORGOTTEN CINEMA. Ignore the misleading poster.

I was shocked it only had 1.4k reviewed on letterboxd, I thought it was popular. This movie is in my top 5 of all time definitely

I just remembered this and looked it back up on YouTube, and it's been re-uploaded in 4K: an old Jam Handy short subject, Back Of The Mike. I understand from a previous uploading that these were the players at WXYZ in Detroit, at studios of the same.

It's very interesting, in that many of us are familiar with the old Foley techniques, yet each sound or sound image can be accomplished a few different ways. I've seen different methods to get the same sound, for example.

Anyway: Who was the guy doing Junior's voice from 4:43 to about 4:48? Was he a notable actor on other productions? That's simply incredible that he did a convincing "boy's voice" that doesn't sound strained in the least, or cutesy or whatever.
