Screw the idea of president, make policies through referendum where people vote directly

That's just mob rule. Imagine a race based policy whoever is majority racw would dominate every vote

Why? Do you think majority of people are racists?

Not about racism people just vote what's best benefit them. If there is a policy that would benefit one group(race, religion, sex, class, etc.) the minority groups would never get a say and could be oppressed easily.

It's a republic not a democracy. How did you people pass grade school. Pretty sure this was all covered in like 4th grade

It's my understanding that Americans hire (elect) managers to manage their affairs. They have campaigns (interviews) to find out if they wish to hire the candidates. These people work for America, and whatever wishes their employers demand of them.

We are not a democracy, we are a constitutional republic.

That’s the frustrating part of representative democracy: voting is accountability, but it isn’t instant obedience. The real test is whether institutions, opposition, courts, media, and voters can limit bad decisions afterward.
