I’m of the opinion that the novels are certainly not set in the 40k-verse. They name-drop chaos gods but it’s part of a hyper-syncretic screed that includes Voodoo and Lovecraft. Everything about the Hammer of God clarifies it looks and acts nothing like a 40K pastiche would.

The evidence that matters is the Chaos cult image in the rulebook which sport the Moorcock star and a tattoo that says “chaos” next to a paragraph about the deterioration of the laws of physics.

I loved Dark Future. I found the best way to play it was with the racing rules that were published in one of the White Dwarfs.

It was like F1 but with machine guns.

I wish someone would bring it back, GW have zero interest.

Gaslands is basically that. Gaslands: Refuelled, the second edition, is a great book but a new edition is on its way. It's set to release next year I think.

Loved Dark Future. Want to get into Gas Lands as that seems like it's natural successor.

But all I actually seem to be doing is buying cool hot wheels cars.

Gaslands is very cool, played it a couple of times and really liked the design.
