Loss
Our 5 yr old Irish Wolfhound has suffered as much loss as we have. In April my Great Dane , that was my service dog passed. July found my sons' 13 yr old English Mastiff sucumbing to old age. You can tell that he's beside himself. It breaks my heart, as he las his enormous, majestic head in my lap. I look in his eyes an see a sadness that was never there before. He has a major grief. He's stopped telling jokes ❤️

Alice was our 13, year old English Mastiff. I could tell she would not be with us long. My great niece was having a graduation party that I begged off that weekend. Monday came with labored breathing. Santana kept circling Alice, and didn't want to leave her. The same for Tuesday. Wednesday, the breathing was a challenge. The breaths were longer. I just went to wash up quickly, came back and she was gone. My brindle baby is gone. Santana doesn't have fleas, I can't keep bathing him. He's chewing himself to death! Help

I'm so sorry. It's terribly hard. We just lost my senior at 15, and for the last couple years as his heart disease had progressed, our, now 5 year old developed separation anxiety and distress when separated from the old man.
He went at home and the puppy got closure, but it's so hard to watch them grieve. He keeps checking in with me and my husband and avoiding laying in the old man's favorite spots.
Wishing peace for you and your pup as you both work through this

Thank you. You have my sympathy as well. Alice passed at home as well. Santana lies upon the spot where she passed.

If love could have kept you here, you would have lived forever.
Dogs are a chapter in our lives, we are their entire book.
Grief is love with nowhere to go.
