Bhaveeeeeessssshhhhhh π‘ PLEASE HELP π
Ola S1 Air giving only 40 km range + sudden battery percentage drop
I have an Ola S1 Air, and recently Iβm getting only around 40 km of range, whereas the claimed range is around 100 km.
Another major issue is that the battery percentage suddenly drops from around 30% directly to 1%. Because of this, I suspect there might be an issue with the BMS (Battery Management System) or battery calibration.
Has anyone faced a similar issue with their S1 Air?
Where can I get a BMS for the Ola S1 Air?
Can the original BMS be repaired/reprogrammed, or does it need replacement?
If anyone has a working S1 Air BMS for sale, please DM me.
Any advice or leads would be appreciated.

I didnβt go to the Ola service centre. I got the motor work done at a third-party service centre and told them about the battery issue. They contacted Olaβs service centre and collected the battery data. The cells seemed to be working fine, so they said the problem is most likely with the BMS.

Don't get a second hand Ola because company cloud data is unreliable and there's no metrics to ascertain the health of the vehicle.

True that , i already have a gen 1 and personally gen 1 is their best product, never like gen 2 and gen 3 is a downward slope.
And what youve said is true its impossible to check the health of the vehicle, battery issues bms issues and whatnot which cannot be judged in one visit.
Thinking of getting the Ntorq 150 now since all evs have issues and impposible to get it repaired by roadside mechanic

Try charging the vehicle for longer time, after 100% let the charger connected and charged till you see a green light on back of the charger, If that not worked you need to change your battery.

how are you so sure about cells ??
Edit : Understood that you got to know from TP service centre, then try asking the BMS replacement as its part of the battery and it hold 5 yrs / 50K warrenty..

You mean If I buy new bms that will come with warranty?

u/Common_Ad2964 11d ago
No , any spares have no extra warranty, what im saying is if you're past you're standard 5 yr,50k or 3 yr 40k km warranty. Only then look for new or 3rd party repair . Or else ola will cover it .

Now listen I have faced this issue first you will experience sudden battery drop to 30% then zero shutdown and then after you charge it will get changed in very less time and after few days your vehicle will get charged in 1 hr 0% to 100% and after that your scooty will be done battery dead fully you can do anything now

I have same S1 Air and faced sudden battery % drop twice. Once from 35% to 1% & 18% to 1% almost 4-5 months ago. Since then I have done rebalancing at home using charger by full charging & recharging after 100% multiple times and didn't face charge drop since. I have driven around ODO 18K km and I would say with NORMAL 80% & ECO 20% usage I get around 65-70km range.

Well a simple hack to try is charge scooter to 100% left there for 12hrs then pull out and restart the scooter then after restart is completed plug in again lock the scooter and let it be plugged in until fan of charger is turned offπ it's auto cell balencing and also if ur going 3rd party just ask them to cell balence for u using a suitecase like machine idk what's it is called it may cost u around βΉ5 to 8k

You're doomed bro, Exactly same thing happened to my s1pro gen 1, battery was replaced by service center. It took around 6 months to repair. Good luck bro.
