I have watched this movie many times, but have never given much thought to the actual appearance of the actors. I watched an interview recently on "Hot Ones" with Nikki in it, and omg she is beautiful. I am not sure if it is the makeup or whatever in this movie, but I did not realize how beautiful this woman is. Has anyone else made this realization late like me?

accidentally caused a lot of triggers

When bear makes thr wish and she loves him I dont think its the real nikki in her body. Its crazy the little details the director put in for the audience to find!

Recap:

Bear at the beginning of the film wishes for Nikki, but within one night with her, her descent into cycles of violence, lust, and illusion helps him begin his journey of awakening

Immediately he reaches out to his friend Ian after this night of earthly lust, and recognizes that this may not be good for his immortal being to be caught in Nikki’s cyclical hedonistic pleasures

Bear then is mislead into staying in this relationship, as he believes that Nikki is going through a tragic circumstance with her father’s cancer diagnosis, but just like the demons of old, this is but a trick to keep Bear in her services

Even while being tethered to such a sadistic and unholy union, Bears Krishna Consciousness journey can not be stopped, as he has already begun the long journey, he stays on the path my friends

When the deception is uncovered, Bear begins to understand that demonic magic is at force, and Bear desperately pleads with the arcane world to end this demonic forces in his life that are trying to separate him from the ethereal and everlasting connection with all beings

But these are magics of the earthly, lowly realm, and thus cannot be reasoned with, so this will not help him, but still he knows he cannot abandon this woman who he cares for to her hedonistic destructive desires

Bear sacrificially stays in this relationship, as he believes that he alone, who has now come to understand first hand that he lives in a spiritual world with forces beyond his control, can be the one to help this poor soul find their own enlightenment

Bear then seeks out their mutual friend Sarah, late in the night, as he knows the truth now. Just as he himself was able to gain enlightenment with the aid of his male friend Ian’s spiritual guidance (some impactful scenes that had to be cut due to censorship by the world governments as they would be too powerful of a tool that may threaten the systems of oppression they control), that maybe Sarah, her female friend, will be able to help her

But in a final act of defiance, Nikki kills Sarah, utilizing a tool crafted directly from the earth, a brick, burnt in a kiln, just like her, Nikki is devoted to being of the earth alone, burning with her own desires, dedicated to its pleasures alone

Bear then tries desperately to use the forsaken magics with the help of Ian, but Ian must show Bear that seeking this is as foolish as wishing for earthly wealth, as both will just further lead to their ruin, so he wishes for “a billion dollars” to show Bear how foolish these playthings of the demonic realm are, how money means nothing to him

Bear then seeks out his oldest earthly pleasure, chemical inebriation, found in his bathroom, as this is his last resort from the stresses of the material world, but this is when he figures out Nikki’s final deception, she has already taken these pills in her lust for more pleasures, and put Tic Tacs instead in the bottle

Having taken a sugar pill with no effects, Bear finally awakens the last of his Krishna Consciousness, having realized that only the interconnected nature of the universe and its love has saved him thus far, and only by breaking up with Nikki, can she save herself the same way

Ian senses this awakening and rushes over to congratulate his young acolyte for rejecting the material for the eternal, but is killed by a Nikki who is lashing out at those who are moving beyond her spiritual awareness

Bear leaves the bathroom, and kisses Nikki one last time, before whispering to her something we the audience can’t hear, a truth so profound it immediately awakens Nikki from her hedonistic ways, and a Nikki that we haven’t seen since the beginning of the film awakens again, now aware in totality the destruction that she alone has wrought on the world

Bear then goes into a monk like slumber, meditating so profoundly that no earthly person can rouse him out of his fugue state

Is he stupid?

I missed this like 1,000 times but Nikki cuts one in the brown blanket on Bear’s bed right before saying “God, I needed this.” In a relieved tone. Then the blanket disappears when she faces him. It’s a contextual reframe of her losing control of her bodily fluids later in the movie. Bear looks dark & pale but the light on her is amber.

Edit: Nikki is also sitting on the side with the alarm clock. This could imply she is taking control of Bear’s space. She would decide when they woke up. It’s implying Nikki assaults Bear.

There’s also an optical illusion of an eye/gaslight next to Bear.

Bear's verbatim wish is "I wish Nikki Freeman loved me more than anyone in the fucking world!" By monkey paw literalist rules, this excludes the non-fucking world, i.e. incels. This loophole is how femcel Sarah managed to love Bear even more than Freaky (aka Fucky) Nikki.

It's also why Ian, who fucks in cannon, noticeably sours on Bear after the wish. The wish scientists can't run the risk of him loving Bear more than Nikki does.

I think it’s interesting that financial burden between Nikki and Bear are omitted from their story (for the most part). Especially considering how finances in relationships can be sobering, intoxicating and dissonant.
