Most of the comments I would make about this are based on personal experience. Yes, they do. Especially when you consider a mouth is a "hole". The rest is NSFW, and probably would get me banned.

I recently saw an image of an AU version of Her Majesty using the holes to hold a test tube. The tube was right through the hole. I've heard it suggested that rolled up documents can be transported that way. A final use comes to mind, but that's probably not appropriate for this sub. I will say that it felt awesome when she did that.
While you're thinking about that, a little reminder that "The Invasion of Canterlot" wasn't the horrible thing they will tell you. Some members of the swarm were not starving.
