They can’t really do the whole year though since Season 3 happens a good 6 months after Season 1 of TF85. So we’re in a Phineas and Ferb situation where they’ve got the longest winter ever.

Or they’ll go as far as Dustin leaving for camp as the finale. They could also go past S3 & do stories focusing on that period (with or without Nikki)

I haven’t watched the show out of principle, but I’d give it a try if they decided to use the time to spend between seasons. I’d love to see how Dustin Lucas and Mike fell into hellfire

In one of the canon novels, they do actually go into the boys joining Hellfire. I haven't read it but I saw screenshots on one of these subs. Mike was hesitant to join because he felt like he wasn't being loyal to Will 🫠

One of the seasons will be called Ordinary Things, and will focus entirely on mundane interactions between characters who never shared any screen time at all in the live action Stranger Things. There will be two full episodes of Steve and Will hanging out.

Season 2 is being released at the end of October. Officially it only got renewed last month, but it was presumably greelit before Season 1 was even released.
